I never said they live in Adelaide and Perth.

My response implied that the respondents were Queenslanders, New South Welshmen and Canberrans who got teased by their work colleagues about rugby league being a "two state sport".

There are plenty of fumbleball fans in Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra who use the "two state sport" jibe against rugby league fans.

There's no evidence that 26% of the respondents were from Adelaide and Perth.

You've put 2 and 2 together and come up with 5.

Yeah but that is also something that you can’t prove. You can’t possibly know the reasons why people have responded the way they have.

Unfortunately - it’s also not just you in this circumstance - there are people on here who make statements that they can’t possibly back up.

Let’s be honest, donkey thinks:

rugby union isn’t popular in perth as there’s not many rugby league fans
The game shouldn’t grow in new markets as it’s going to cost 30k viewers in brisbane on ch9
he doesn’t think there should be a perth nrl club as Perths afl clubs don’t get as many as he thinks they should on ch7.
he wants another team in brisbane but refuses to support any 4 of the seq teams local to him.

the guys a fruitcake lol

I’m the one who said the failure of rugby union in Perth reflects on the prospects for rugby league

Perth

poor to no juniors
Minimal new viewers in wa
Geographically isolated
Competing with entrenched afl clubs
Failure of soccer union and league to prosper long term there

Perth really is the most obvious choice for nrl expansion:
Growing city of 2.2million people
richest state in australia
Drew 42k crowd to nrl this season
Third strongest grassroots state in australia already producing nrl and nrlw players with strong potential for growth of participation and player production
beautiful affordable city to raise family in attracting players to relocate
Bid consortium of millionaire committed owners
Supportive cashed up state govt
growth potential for tv audience
increase in value of sponsorship to nrl by having another big capital city in the comp
75 year history of rugby league and local clubs
perfect location for new tv time slot
suitable regular stadium and bigger top class one if and when needed
takes the fight to afl and puts another nail in unions coffin
removes the public perception rugby league is a two state game
politis and finally Vlandys recognise value of an Australian wide competition

You cannot prove the respondents are from Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth. Maxipad claimed the respondents are from Melbourne and Perth.

I think you’ll find you said the only fans in favour of aPerth team are perth people. So which is did 26% of respondent to the nrl poll come from perth, or are you taking bs as usual? Don’t answer it’s rhetorical.

I never said anything of the sort. I challenge you to find a post that backs up your idiotic claim.

The game shouldn’t grow in new markets as it’s going to cost 30k viewers in brisbane on ch9

You and that nutcase @mongoose argue we need teams in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth to increase the amount of people watching the game. Rating patterns suggest a Perth-based team will draw low ratings across the country.

I've seen you argue against NZ2 because the Warriors draw low ratings on Australian TV. You're now saying we shouldn't worry about how many people watch a Perth-based team. It's very hypocritical stance.

he doesn’t think there should be a perth nrl club as Perths afl clubs don’t get as many as he thinks they should on ch7.

You're always talking about the support for Eagles and Dockers being much bigger than the Broncos. Their ratings in Perth are only half the size of the Broncos in Brisbane. If Western Australia's two largest sports teams can only accrue half as many viewers as the Broncos then what chance does an NRL team have of generating a sizeable audience?

he wants another team in brisbane but refuses to support any 4 of the seq teams local to him.

There's only three NRL clubs in SEQ you dickhead. It's not about what's best for me. It's about the interests of RL. A third Brisbane team will generate more revenue from game day and provide more value to the broadcasters, increasing the worth of the broadcast rights.

the guys a fruitcake lol

Look at the crap you just posted. You're clearly delusional.

If all of that is true then you will have no trouble quoting me. The fact you didn't provide a quote suggests you're lying again.

Victoria has a larger junior base than Western Australia. You've been shown the official numbers. I posted them on 7 Nov.

Looks like @Perth Red and the WA Gov are telling lies.

They claim WA has the most players after Queensland and NSW.

A local NRL team would also provide an opportunity to further grow participation in community rugby league which - with 4,100 registered players - is the game's third biggest jurisdiction behind the traditional strongholds of NSW and Queensland.

The Melbourne Storm have refuted that claim.

2023 will go down as a milestone year for rugby league in Victoria with a record number of players joining local competitions around the state.

Over 4,500 registered footy players have already registered across men's, women's and junior competitions, breaking the previous 2019 record of 4,431 players.

With 30 clubs across Victoria and more than 250 teams in metropolitan competitions, playing in the Storm Premiership and Storm Junior League, the game has seen record-growth state-wide.

Players are also joined by over 1,000 registered volunteers and 99 referees maintaining the game’s smooth operation both on and off-field.

Despite knowing the truth, you've decided to spread this lie.

I never said or suggested that point. Nor do I believe in the veracity of that statement.

You’re the one who made the statement that the only people who are supporting a Perth team are ones who were teased by fumbleball work colleagues. The onus is on you to prove that point.

He didn’t actually say that. He intimated that the only people in support of a Perth side are those being teased by fumbleball work colleagues about the game being popular in two states.

It was a pretty stupid comment but not what you are framing it as.

Didn't Perth Red say we need a Perth-based team so the game can shed its reputation of being a "two state sport"?

Perth red agreed with it

he said he’s sick of defending rugby league as a two state sport
