Your whole argument is population matters

why did union fail with better roots and a billionaire backer
becuase the game of union is on its arse. if the other 4 union clubs in the country were doing splendidly you'd have a point, reality for them is the game is screwed and the clubs are just a reflection of that. Im pretty sure if Union here took away the salary cap Twiggy would build a world class team.

Union has better roots now while they have the pathway and we don't.

They did not dominate league pre 1998.
So far he is happy that union is dominating league and that Perth, at least in his delusional mind, is getting a third AFL team whilst he is happy for RL in Perth to stagnate. Strange RL fan he is for sure.

Again for the hard of learning, Perth isnt Melbourne.
in 1992 when the city was less than half its current size there were 10k registered RL players. Its taken Melbourne 25 years of a successful NRL club to get to half that number.
PERTH isnt MELBOURNE. Not sure how many times it has to be said.
There was no Force when the Reds were around.

There was also less concern over concussions and brain damage in the 1990s. For all we know there might be fewer parents in Perth willing to let their kids play rugby league in 2023 than in 1995.

We all know that The Dolphins entering the NRL have sent Vicky Kicky house into a tailspin. Imagine their reaction when the PNG team is based in North Queensland and then followed by Brisbane 3 and NZ 2, which will effectively stop any further expansion of Vicky Kicky into Queensland and New Zealand.
Honestly why would any code care about PNG? It's not like it's going to generate any revenue, or

AFL will never be a thing in NZ or PNG.
For all we know there might be fewer parents in Perth willing to let their kids play rugby league in 2023 than in 1995.
What makes Perth unique on that issue? Aren't you arguing for why RL needs to grow its junior base and not just rely on Brisbane and Sydney?

Anyone who argues that RL ratings in Melbourne have "exploded" is clearly deranged and needs medication. Especially when they ignore the 73 regular season games on Ch9 that average just 12k. Focusing on the four biggest games on the RL calendar -- Origin and the GF -- is cherry picking. Of course those four games are going to rate well. It doesn't make the 12k average for the other 73 games irrelevant.

Well youd have to go back to the 90's to see how RL rated on FTA in melbourne. Given by 2000's it was buried at midnight if on at all, it'd be fair to say that 876k avg audience a year is much much greater than FTA was drawing pre Storm wouldnt it?

ah right, so why was Brisbane a 1 team town for the majority of the Broncos existence?
Are you now arguing that Adelaide and Perth will never get a team?

If you're going to say that News Ltd's position on the Crushers in the 90s means there will never be a third Brisbane team -- you've argued this in the past and said News Ltd won't accept the Tigers -- then you cannot ignore the fact they culled the Rams and Reds.

But this is literally YOUR argument?

And again what news ltd we’re doing in 1997 and what they are doing now has zero relevance to each other lol.
