So by that logic no nrl team in perth ha?!

The point I’m making is that a sport or any product can develop an audience/consumers anywhere.

Hence why I said the fumblers have already developed their audience in Brisbane, the same as they have developed their audience in Sydney, regardless of what RL do. The same as there would be an audience for the Storm in Melbourne or for a team in Perth or Adelaide if RL choose to go down that route. This audience would be a combination of people who have moved from interstate, people who have chosen one sport over the other because of preference or people who follow both sports and attend both.

It’s a pretty simple point really. The way you go on sometimes, you’d think that people in Sydney or Brisbane only watch league or that people in Vic, SA or WA only watch fumbleball.

Lol, last refuse of super leaguers saying ppl in Melbourne & Perth watch on kayo & fox. Makes no sense business wise as league is out of sight out of mind in those states & unlikely to develop hardcore's who pay to watch. Further wookie had numbers which disprove it as well.

What was that about ad hominem again and you accusing somebody else of doing that? Super League/ARL crap is in the past and you and everybody else should let it go. It’s also refuge not refuse.

The simple point I am making is you can’t 100% categorically determine what the audience is for League in any given area because of the large take up of Pay TV. Of course, it’s most likely that the majority of these audiences would probably be in NSW/QLD but that’s about the only comment you could make.

You definitely couldn’t say categorically like you’re prone to do that there is no audience whatsoever for League in fumbleball states.

Saying league is more popular & has more exposure in northern states shouldn't be controversial. Pay number has been published but pretending a large portion of viewership is from afl states is laughable. Like I said smoke & mirrors

Probably when they realized nobody in Melbourne watches..
The old chicken and egg conundrum isn’t it. Maybe as partner in the game, and given their ratings at nrl game times is probably a bit sht anyway, how about giving it a run for the lifetime of contract and see what can be achieved. Didn’t they just get ten times the usual amount last week on the normal channel?
you do like to take the game down dont you?

No it isn't. Broadcasters have expressed what they want with actions & actual words!!! Despite this u stick to ur guns & say they want something else. That's cray cray

You seem to struggle with comprehension or you like to misquote people for the sake of an argument.

Go read the last two paragraphs again.

It is actually just a case of you seriously misquoting me.

This is what I said

You claimed I said the following

Saying league is more popular & has more exposure in northern states shouldn't be controversial. Pay number has been published but pretending a large portion of viewership is from afl states is laughable. Like I said smoke & mirrors

As anybody can see you’ve completely misrepresented what I said (not for the first time) because you either couldn’t comprehend what was written; or you did know what was written and decided to totally misrepresent what was said because you couldn’t actually argue against the point being made.

You then double down on that nonsense by using FTA figures and claiming it as a total audience.

Only because they are Top 4 team

Watch what happens when they become a bottom 8 team and Ch9 stops showing them every week

It takes 2 to tango and you will find its a Sydney or Brisbane team that is bringing the game to FTA

As Foxtel numbers prove, 80-90% watch almost all games

Even Ch9 showed a rare Sat NF game 2 weeks ago because it was a Top 4 encounter

Have Ch9 starting showing RL in VIC, SA, WA before 1am these days?
You'll probably be waiting a long-time before that happens considering the Storm have been a finals team since 2003. 20 straight years. On top of that, while a lot of outsiders would've expected the game in Victoria to be a lot further ahead by now, we're now finally starting to see that surge in popularity hit its strides. 50% growth in junior numbers alone since covid, growing numbers in memberships, attendance, etc. If the Storm are hitting top 3 in every metric, just wait 5-10 more years. If you grew up here watching & supporting the Storm since its inception, you'd know how little the NRL did to help promote the Storm and NRL in Victoria especially during the 2000s. Rugby union was still more popular than league during that time even without a Super Rugby franchise, and now the tables have flipped dramatically. All in due time...
