Tigers have two pathways to the nrl

1. join with png. Would only get 2 games in Brisbane and it’s manly a png club

or

3. align with Ipswich / Logan providing the financial muscle their bid lacks. Broncos have less cause for complaints

all games in Brisbane

obviously option two is far superior for them
Ipswich financial muscle?

Shit trolling

Tigers are between a rock and ahead place. Do they hang out in the hope for further expansion and they get club 19 or 20 and broncos don’t sabotage it, or jump in bed with a non brisbane bid and hope for club 18 but be a non brisbane entity.

Brisbane Tigers should be allowed to use the Tigers name and mascot.

Basically Wests Tigers v Brisbane Tigers would become known as the "Tiger Derby" and would also be a mini state of origin as it'd be NSW Tigers v QLD Tigers.

Their colour scheme is perfect for a Perth-based team. With Magic Round being in Brisbane the club could use it for one home game at Lang Park and host the other 11 at Perth Oval. I'd support the team.

Extremely well said, especially the part about reversing those clubs situation, cowboys would dive hard if they were in canberras shoes

Is there anything you don't get wrong?

The Cowboys entered 1995 with more hurdles to overcome than any other expansion team in living memory. For a start, the Cowboys had to compete with three other expansion teams for players and had the most difficulty attracting talent. The only thing that went the Cowboys way was the 25 year lease they signed with the Queensland Gov to build a stadium at Willows for just $1 per annum. It most certainly wasn't done out of patriotism for RL. The Brisbane Lions were given a 99 year lease by the Ipswich City Council for just $1 over the entire period.

The Cowboys had to acquire a loan to build the stadium at Willows and relied on volunteers to complete it before their opening game in 1995. The club had to spend $800k on a) flying Sydney teams to Townsville and b) accommodating them in hotels.

Despite all of these hurdles, the Cowboys generated some of the best attendances across the ARL, Super League and the NRL between 1995 and 2000. During this period the club picked up wooden spoons in 1995, 1997 and 2000, yet their season attendance records never dropped below 15,000.

Cowboys also earnt more from sponorship than all clubs bar Broncos and Knights during this period.

Wenty magpies playing wests magpies in NSW cup with potential of teams to go to state championship final against South's Logan magpies

It's Perth or Adelaide for them really... NRL won't want to push thru another SEQ team this soon, a possibility is the Pasifika route, but they won't be able to own the license, so then why bother with that?
In the end East tigers=
Orange and Black.... cant use it, Tiger brand ...cant use, easts brisbane location.... cant use... what f**kn good are they then... probably best to bid for Adelaide under a branding they can own, in a strip of their orange & black and a third color, maybe yellow..

I think I saw the idea mentioned before, but a great name for the Brisbane Easts team would be the Sabres, logo being a Sabre Toothed Cat.

Even though Sabretooths is more technically correct, Sabres is snappier from a marketing angle - though you're right about it being potentially confused by the sword.

The logo looks about right, though - and with the same shade of blue but replacing yellow with orange, you'd have the perfect identity for a Brisbane Easts bid.

Has been said before, Tigers should buy into the Broncos if they want to be represented in the NRL. NRL want a Western Corridor bid which is the right call. Adding another team that covers the same footprint as the Broncos do is a waste of a licence.

Titans, Dolphins, Broncos and Jets will all cover separate corners of the SEQ market and we will still get all the benefits of the local derbies at Suncorp Stadium.

Long term I'd push for 30k stadiums at Redcliffe and Ipswich, but play all Dolphin, Jets, Broncos derbies at Suncorp as well as each playing a home game against the titans at Suncorp every year. Will have a huge impact on their average attendances and pull up the average of the league as a result.

That would actually be the ideal scenario. Tigers take over ownership of broncos and news ltd can f**k off. Then just concentrate on the two brisbane clubs being massive right across the city. They should both be at Suncorp with 50k plus members and 40k crowd averages.

that we allow a media company we are so in bed with for revenue own a club in the comp is a massive conflict of interest.

Only way Ipswich should be admitted is if they are actually an Ipswich side and have a suitable stadium and financial backing to be an Ipswich team. Though why you’d waste a license in that way is highly questionable.
