Jets are broke
News ltd don’t want tigers on their own

call it the jets but base it out of the tigers home ground for training and play a couple of games in Springfield / Logan etc

with the money easts have it’s a slam dunk as much as the dolphins

Brisbane would have true north south (west) centre covered

I do like that the expansion forum exposes how much recreational drug use is prevalent in modern society
I always find it hard to decipher with some on here what’s just stupidity, whats drug or alcohol misuse and whats trolling lol. Take your pick!

Yes because when someone has smashed down a bag of pure coke the way they want to enjoy that is to read your posts

you know if you share that bag with a girl she’s basically dtf which is way way more enjoyable than reading about how Perth will save the nrl

I think I saw the idea mentioned before, but a great name for the Brisbane Easts team would be the Sabres, logo being a Sabre Toothed Cat.

I'd be looking at not going with firehawks, i get that the bid roll out is today, but people are already confused, at the natures arsonist, even if they just kept it simple like "brisbane hawks"
My idea has bit of everything involved,
Easts are the "eastern suburbs tigers"
They are bid runners, generally the 2 most popular of the rival codes in Brisbane are lion related, the Brisbane Lions, and the A-Leagues Roar.
If shane is serious he should be pushing a mascot that is both lion and traditionally "easts" tiger, not a flame bird. I've been thinking "Brisbane City Sabre" is the mascot easts should be pushing, as a sabretooth is more a prehistoric than either a lion or tiger, and looks way different, has the black/brown stripes on a beige/orange jersey. Just seems to marry better as a brisbane team and yet still be linked to easts tigers

I remember the concept being posted, but I didn't remember who posted it. It certainly strikes me as a good idea.

The Firehawks bid branding was quite a weird choice, when there are plenty of big cat alternatives ripe for using.. and given the Wests Tigers reluctance to use orange for their primary jersey, they can't moan if this bid takes an alternative big cat nickname, and wears a primary jersey with a decent proportion of orange.

Has been said before, Tigers should buy into the Broncos if they want to be represented in the NRL. NRL want a Western Corridor bid which is the right call. Adding another team that covers the same footprint as the Broncos do is a waste of a licence.

Titans, Dolphins, Broncos and Jets will all cover separate corners of the SEQ market and we will still get all the benefits of the local derbies at Suncorp Stadium.

Long term I'd push for 30k stadiums at Redcliffe and Ipswich, but play all Dolphin, Jets, Broncos derbies at Suncorp as well as each playing a home game against the titans at Suncorp every year. Will have a huge impact on their average attendances and pull up the average of the league as a result.
Ipswich Jets don't have the money to field a team in the NRL. Nor do they have the infrastructure needed to compete with the other NRL clubs. Their bid will rely on funding from the Ipswich City Council, Queensland State Government and Federal Government.

Brisbane Tigers are NRL ready with a high performance training centre and a rich Leagues club that's based in a centralised location. Ipswich is on the southwestern outskirts and hard to access for people from Logan and Redlands.

I reckon they can be Orange, Brown and white
Use their iconic orange jersey but make its double V in brown and brown trim, white numbers, or at least use that as thier heritage... point is black is easily replaced by another darker color and a chocolate brown is not only unique, it would suit a prehistoric creature..

So, similar to how the Dolphins echo the San Francisco 49ers colour-scheme, a Brisbane Easts-owned NRL team would echo the Cleveland Brown's?

That's a pretty shrewd idea.. plus it leaves other orange options (orange & green, orange and blue especially) on the table for other expansion sides in future.

Not sure any club should echo the browns lol

Dark navy blue and orange works better Imo.

Like we dont have enough navy/blue or black in the NRL already
That’s why I’d go predominantly day glow orange with really dark navy blue and white trim. Stay away from the Royal and light blues that’s over used in nrl.

West tigers existing takes a strength away from easts bid. That's why NRL pushed for merger with jets. If Perth jets get in I don't know where that leaves Brisbane jets?!
