Yep the dolphins have been a disaster
Absolute disaster. Strong growth in juniors. Strong growth in crowds. Great tv ratings. Great membership numbers. They now need to settle in for a few years while we grow the game in new markets.

They didn’t bottle it. Northlakes and surrounding areas have had a massive population growth. Dolphins have the cash. It’s a commercial decision.
ask yourself, if a S/SW team had come in playing all games at Suncorp as Brisbane2 would people be talking now about the need for Brisbane3 in far north suburbia playing games in a 10k stadium so soon? I doubt it!

Easts had just as much cash as Redcliffe, but they presented a bigger threat to the Broncos business. Like I said Vlandys bottled it and doffed his cap to his news ltd paymasters as usual.

Yes they would because the northern suburbs to sunny coast is experiencing a massive growth in its own right and has more commercial appeal and potential than the western suburbs.

Sorry but your argument reeks of someone who hasn’t lived a day in SE Qld

210k increase, is that all? Adelaide's pop is predicted to increase by 500k, maybe we should a put team there instead?
North Brisbane and Sunshine Coast

But sure putting an nrl team in one of the fastest growing regions in Australia for a club with 100 million in assets and over 75 years of history is a bad thing

Figures alone aren’t always a definitive reflection and/or don’t tell the full story.

Greater Adelaide has Adelaide. Is there anywhere else in that region that provides the same housing, work/life balance and general good spot to set up and live? Maybe, I’m not sure.

South Queensland has Brisbane, Gold Coast, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, Redlands, Logan, Ipswich. 6 of those 7 areas are genuinely nice to live in and work from. Sure all have rotten parts but every city/region does.

One could argue Ipswich has some great little spots too. From a business point of view my most recent experiences has seen a commercial boom in Moreton Bay, Logan and Sunshine Coast. Brisbane and Goldie are always money making centers.

Realistically if there weren’t so many Sydney teams, South Qld could easily sustain 5/6 to varying degrees but it is what is and we are where we are. A 5th South Qld team in time will happen.

Whether thats next round or 20+ years down the line remains to be seen.

2.2 million more people forecast for se qld over 20 years.

1.7 million for Brisbane alone

One more Brisbane nrl team will be needed if not two to cope with population growth

unless you want to build a stadium holding 100k for the broncos and dolphins to sell out

Old mate PR..one out again …
He was half right about a Perth nrl team (didn’t see bears)

only took 20 years to get there though
Poms have had so much success expanding RL in their own country … cant even successfully expand 250kms down the road to London in 130 years
london about to be kicked out

six super league clubs want les Catalans kicked out of super league

Two hull teams
2 Wakefield teams
2 Wigan teams

that’s 6 out of the 12 clubs

one more wakey club trying to get in
Meanwhile the NRL are bringing back the Bears (aka the Parasites) and potentially the Jets. Glass houses and all that

That’s the same $40m that’s already been committed to upgrading North Ipswich Reserve as of early this year. Media has just regurgitated the story and put the Jets NRL bid’s name on it.

Still a step in the right direction for Ipswich, an NRL team will need a lot more than 12k but you’d assume this upgrade will be built with further expansion to 25-30k in mind.

Team 21.

And that’s all it takes to hype up some here to change their minds about the next expansion teams. Hilarious
