Barba was discharged today and will return to training this weekend. No confirmation on when he will play again yet

he was always going to play after a 4 to 5 week break. isn't that the amount of time it takes for your body to cleanse itself ...
and all of your mental issues that have built up over your lifetime... as Greenberg put it...
4 weeks...
of course...

Maybe if you read the article....

“People must be aware that this is the first stage of a much bigger program for Ben,” Chief Executive Officer Todd Greenberg said.
“The independent experts and specialists have provided us with their initial report and a big part of their recommendation is for Ben to return to the structure of his day to day life and that obviously includes his commitment to football.

So returning to normal patterns, like the rest of us would, is a recommendation. It now comes down to Barba proving that he is able to continue down this road, and not go back down the other road again.

I have him playing round 3, maybe even NSW Cup this week if they feel that's beneficial.

in come the dogs fans. on cue.
i would expect no more and no less.

with the dramatics and seriousness Greenberg brought to the presser, one would assume it would take longer than 2 or 3 weeks. barely a reason for a press conference at all.

the whole things looks very very dubious but if i was dogs fan, i would be the same as you guys and think on the positive side, but as i am part of the non dogs fan base, i sit on the more scepital side who thinks this was one almighty sham.

thanks to the sharks, the heat is off him and he will come back sooner.
bigger fish to fry now.

Most predictable outcome possible. You can bet your arse if the Dogs had beaten the Cows, he would still be there.

I'm starting to wonder if there wasn't a hint of a stunt to all of this.

Jesus I didn't think the dogs played THAT badly to be busting him out of "rehab" or whatever he was in early

he obviuosly just needed 4 to 5 weeks out of the game or as Greenberg put it, "off contractual obligations"
read into that what you will.

what comes under contractual obligations...???

The Bulldogs couldn't win in this situation. It sounds to me like this was always the plan but because they lost to the Cowboys, Barba never had any real issues to sort out.

Nowhere in the release does it say he's cured and will play against the Eels. He's getting back into his normal routine which includes football training. That's how these things work. He could very well still be a while away from an on-field comeback.

Whatever the contract says he has to do to get paid. Pretty simple really

This is just utter bullshit. We could have won by 40 and it would have been the same thing. What purpose would this serve as a stunt? this isn't WWE.. how could they fake a guy in to a public relationship breakup and the rest? Why would we jeapodise a guys career for a stunt? Why would he even be part of it?

And as to old mate trying to insinuate drug use.. Please clarify if you are alluding to recreational or performance so I can decide which type of idiot you are.
