It probably didn't deserve the mass outrage that's in this thread but it's definitely an issue in the game at the moment.
The inconsistencies around the ruck and with strips appalling.
If it was a Neville they would have been penalised and possibly on report.

Only he could try and land 3 UFC styled elbows to an opponents face and receive a penalty whilst the commentators simply just gloss over it.

Biggest protected species in the NRL.

keys words bolded.
None of them landed and Ballin copped the same penalty that every side cops every week.

Move on.

Slater was taken high in his first run at the start of the game and didn't receive a penalty, so it all evens out anyway.

I saw this. I'm neutral; I hate Melbourne and Manly in equal amounts, more or less. Both Smith and Slater and deadset grubs and have been for years. It's disgusting if Smith gets away with it.

Mind you, won't affect QLD too much. They'll just stick Jake Friend straight in.

All the derp Queenslanders defending him in this thread. If Gal did the same thing, they'd be in their tin foil hats again "dirtiest player in the world, if he was a Queenslander he'd miss the entire origin series. NSW conspiracy!"

Pity some of the prima donnas on here weren't around when Rod Reddy, Les Boyd and a miriad of others were doing the rounds for Australia . . . they might be sitting next to Rotfield in Round Ball Pussyland

The VERY FIRST of the multiple blows from Smith, on the defenceless player on his back on the ground, resulted in the blood seen after this coming from Ballin's snout. Watch Smith's elbow. I reckon anyone involved in a tackle with him ought to, very closely.

Most aggravating of all is that Smith had the hide to resent someone slowing him down in a tackle. It's akin to Hitler being offended by someone being anti-Semetic.

NB Look at what Smith did to his marker in the tackle leading up to Cronk's try. If he'd ended up with a smashed nose and the try disallowed, it'd be justice personified.

(PS No offence to you personally for disagreeing)

Boyd, Reddy and the MYRIAD of others are not being complained about. The bitterness is directed at (a) Smith's extreme preferential treatment, and perhaps moreso (b) the hypocrisy of how he is portrayed, by mainstream media and himself, compared to the fact that he is a filthy, dirty f$%^wit.

Well put.
