Halves are still a major issue

Agree.

I really think the only way to solve this halves debacle that the Blues have been going through for the last few years is to pick a young pair and stick with them - give them the self confidence that comes with the knowledge that the selectors believe in you.

I'd have Mullen and Pearce, I think they have the potential to strike up a combination that could lead NSW out of the doldrums.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Watch for articles in the off-season about how "fit" Carl is, and how he is going to rip in and have a great year!

He will be good for 20min in one or two games this season and then disappear into nothingness once again.

Carl is actually a better boxer than footy player.......

Carl Webb: The Owen Craigie of the forwards

Sorry Parra fans, I really feel sorry for you on this one.

Didn't Craigie actually have potential...?

So did Webb according to the media.

I cannot believe Parramatta would waste 1 cent on this guy.

He roughs up Bailey a bit in an Origin and all of a sudden he's a potential world boxing champion, Arthur Beetson and David 'Cement' Gillespie all rolled into one.

I don't think there has been a more useless player in the game than Carl Webb these last 10 years and he even has his own personal male groupie.

"Because Carl Webb says so" cracks me up everytime. What does he say, nom nom nom nom nom

we are actually wasting $150K a year

As a cowboys fan I only have on thing to say

Bwahahahah

Well, if Carl Webb starts playing at his best again, Parra will be the ones laughing-at you.
The Eels have got one of the most hard-ball coaches in the NRL, and one of the best trainers in the NRL. Add the new club effect and the fact that the coach won't tolerate any BS like Neil Henry does, and you've got yourself a recipe for 'redemption'. If they can't get it out of him, no-one can.
However, he will be 4th prop at Parra, and they have ample replacements if he doesn't perform, so if he thinks he can be lazy he will be kicked from the side.
He's cheap too, so it's not like they are actually wasting money on a former international prop; they gave him your standard NRL player's contract (around $150,000 per year), so if he doesn't perform it's not like they have wasted anything.

Seriously though, as a part-time Cowboys fan myself, I must say that the club change may do the world of good for him; the Cowboys have done themselves a disservice by sticking with him and going easy on him. It's a win for both the Cowboys and the Eels.

Personally I think Webb is worth a third of that. He's a reserve grade standard player these days. He wouldn't crack a first grade spot at just about every club in the NRL bar the woefully performing Cowboys, and even they don't want him.
