It coud turn out to be a good decision.

I know it sucks having to be patient (even though that's part of being an Eels fan) but we'll know in two weeks time whether it was a good decision or not.

There's also the possibility that Sandow will play against the Tigers (or fail his fitness test and not play in either grade) and all this hysteria will once again be for nothing.

Nothing? Really?

The coach dropped him, regardless of injury!

If it is for discipline then we have an even bigger issue that a new player to the club can't even settle in without disrupting things.......most would be keen to impress!

Who cares? DA is old news - discuss with the topic at hand, instead of with amateurish diversions (aka trolling).

The issue at hand? You mean rumours from a notoriously hysterical tabloid newspaper?

How about waiting for official word from the club? And no, they shouldn't respond to every rumour that appears in the news. The first law of public relations is that no comment is the best comment to make in 99% of cases.

The team knows whether Sandow will play on Sunday. Thanks to all this bullshit the Tigers do not. Who do you think that benefits?

Can't agree with this decision, but I hope all the people who've been bagging him out are happy

OMG I hope you're not suggesting that some posts on LU and random tweets have caused the sacking of Sandow ?

Sandow had to be dropped, agrees Hindmarsh

Parramatta skipper Nathan Hindmarsh agrees with Stephen Kearney's decision to drop out-of-sorts halfback Chris Sandow to the NSW Cup, but believes it will only be a one-week hiatus.
Sandow was sent back to Wentworthville Magpies for training last night, missing the Eels' session in the morning, and will line-up for the NSW Cup team against the Auckland Vulcans at Ringrose Park tomorrow afternoon.
It's a decision Hindmarsh has backed, firmly of the opinion it will help kick-start Sandow's season.
"He's down on confidence and this will hopefully bring him back," Hindmarsh said.
"It wouldn't have been an easy call for Steve to make. I trust Steve's judgement and his decision. Hopefully it will only be a week and we will see him back to the Chrissy that we know."
Kearney told Hindmarsh and the senior players in the team of his decision to axe Sandow to the NSW Cup before he announced his team on Tuesday, but Hindmarsh said it didn't come as a surprise.
It was a tough decision but the Eels skipper is convinced Sandow will be back on deck for the Eels next Friday night against the Bulldogs, win, lose or draw this Sunday afternoon against the Tigers.
"He's our No.1 halfback," Hindmarsh said.
"I honestly only think it's going to be a week to spruik him up a bit and get that confidence back he needs. I think he'll slot straight back into the side, we'll reshuffle and get straight back into it."
Hindmarsh admitted he felt sorry for Sandow, who will be replaced by Casey McGuire this week, clearly burdened by shouldering the expectation of a club starving for success.
"He came with a lot of expection and pressure," he said.
"Coming to a club like Parramatta, who are just good or bad when we're in the paper and people want to know what's going on. Obviously going back to the 80's when Sterlo (Peter Sterling) was our number one halfback, it's an important position where there's a lot of pressure on him."

The issue at hand - the quote of mine you replied to - was about Kearney's lack of game plans. Nothing about DA, and nothing about tabloid newspapers....

I have no idea what you're going on about here... word, rumours, comment? This is an internet forum, and people are discussing the merits of whether Sandow should be dropped or not. Waiting for official word before having any discussions about anything, reeks of seeking a clinically loyal environment where the authority has the final only say, and everyone then needs to fall in line behind the "official word" - my country right or wrong, you could say? Much better imo not to get so upset about the exchange of opinions and independent thinking.

The team knows whether Sandow will play on Sunday. Thanks to all this bullshit the Tigers do not. Who do you think that benefits?
All this bullshit (presuming you're referring to rumours in papers here?) benefits no-one actually. It can only serve to destabilise the mentally weaker members of our squad, who (understandably, for the younger ones) may not have the self-discipline to not read the press or facebook, twitter etc. It can destabilise even the senior players who get asked questions by the press about all of this (Hindy on TV last night, Poore and Maitua during the week in the press).

The "talk" of dropping Sandow in the media is hardly the coaching masterstroke to create uncertainty for the Tigers that you are trying to make out. Now back to those game plans, mentioned in the part of my post that you quoted....?

How does dropping a player to nsw cup for one game going to benefit him? Wow I can already see the confidence beaming from Sandow

It benefits Kearney, because it looks like he's doing something, and he can report to his bosses (Board) that he's trying something, and they can remain warm and fuzzy about a vague and inconclusive five year plan....

It certainly does not help our gate takings which on a sunny Sunday afternoon should be huge. All this bullcrap about our No.1 recruit being dropped must put a dent in people's enthusiasm to attend the match.

Are we sure this photo is from this week and not last week???? Maybe the photo got leaked now to the media?????

thats a good point actually

We don't know and if it was the case you would think the club would say it was a old photo or something.
Wasn't communication going to fixed up under 3P?

maybe our club is happy for the media to go off in a frenzy and not bother correcting them - personally I don't care if it all ends up a media bullshit story

So f**king what? He's just as likely to get injured in first grade, like he did against the Sharks. :?

Suity

550k is a lot to waste on a player in Wenty. And if Sandow does go to Wenty and gets injured then thats a massive call that backfired.
