Would be very surprised if the NSW side was made up exclusively of players from this match and the Test players.

In other words its not a selection trial - has rarely been that way - and although I believe they should still play the game they have to stop publicly claiming it to be a genuine selection trial and do it quickly.

Not for the fan's sake... but for the poor players who get stuffed around every year.

And that includes the ones who get picked and are a million to one of actually playing Origin.

tahu is sh*te. and If Lyon gets selected for anything higher than Manly's run on side for the rest of the year, then the selectors need their heads read.

this years SOO series is gonna be great to watch ... what a rabble this lot are

I don't care that he is now out with injury, a directive needs to come from the top not to pick defectors ... Tahu being selected is a disgrace

Oink !

i'll answer my own question - the following players played for NSW last yr but are not in the test team or the city country
Brett Hodgson
Matt Cooper
Eric Grothe
Mark Gasnier-injured
Brett Finch
Luke O'Donnell-injured
Steve Menzies-retired from rep
Mark O'Meley-injured
Ben Hornby

Cooper and Grothe the biggest shocks imo

I assume the selections followed the parth of only those excluded from the test team were not considered

If this is a selection trial would hope that those outside the game arent put in meaning the backline esp will have someinteresting selection

Fitzgibbon at prop?? Are they kidding themselves.

Why not put Laffranchi at prop and Fitzgibbon in the backrow, or not in the side.

Cusack shouldve been picked ahead of Fitzgibbon and Tongue and G Stewart somewhere in the side.

Yes nqboy everyone seems to be fogetting the blues that where omitted as thier spots are secure.

1.
2.
3. Lyon
4.
5. King
6.
7.
8. Kite
9.
10. Bailey
11. Mason
12. Hindmarsh
13. Ryan

14. Topou
15. Simpson
16.
17.

Leaving these other spots available.

I think Cooper was omitted as he has the other centre spot. But perhaps not, Grothe the same. King may be the centre.
Buderus and Farah look like they will take 9 and 17.
I think Hoffman will get the remaining forward spot with Mason used as a front rower for portions of the game.
If Minichello plays well he will get the 1.
I am unsure why people question Creagh, he has been good in a losing team.
Douglas was always going to get picked the selectors have high hopes for the young man.
I would not pick Tongue over Creagh and Maitua, and  at the thought of Turner.

So what is left is the halves.

These blokes will be watched closely, Murray is Kimmorley and Anasta fan

Based on these selections I reckon the blues will look like this

1. Minichello
2. Grothe
3. Lyon
4. Cooper
5. King
6. Anasta
7. Kimmorley
8. Kite
9. Buderus (c)
10. Bailey
11. Mason
12. Hindmarsh
13. Ryan

14. Topou
15. Simpson
16. Hoffman
17. Farah

There you go, was not sure until these teams were picked.

What the fugg has Newton done all year? Glenn Stewart should have been there, hell id even say that Corey Paterson should be there before Newton.

Merrit deserves a place. Even as a courtesy to acknowledge him. Leading tryscorer in a flogger team last year, and playing fine right now.
