Please. You know that he's going to be homesick for Brisbane (despite never living there) in a few years and want to play under a 73 year old Wayne Bennett at the Broncos, who probably won't even be coach there.

Except when he did live there and played for Churchie...

two completely different players who are playing different roles. So who is the better footballer??? Depends on what you want, a game manager or a game buster. Considering the success the Blues have had with no 7's over the past decade I guess they would take Cleary, but I also think Ponga is the best young talent to hit the scene in years.

I would love either at the Tigers, but when you look at our abysmal attack I guess I would take Ponga if I was forced to make a call

But seriously, the kid is a freak. He's one of those kids that was good at every sport growing up.

Looking at his Wiki page, he played League, Union, AFL, soccer, touch and golf. f**king golf! He won the NZ U/13 national golf championship ffs!

3 different sports tried signing him along with the Cowboys!

He's deadset taking the piss.
I'm honestly just glad he chose league!

Cleary = 1 series win
Ponga = 0 series wins what a loser

In all seriousness not sure the need for comparison here. Two exciting young, and totally different players

Ponga was freakish playing out of position in the forwards and found Origin to be "the same" as club footy after making more than triple his usual tackle count all in the middle and almost winning the game for the 2 heads.

He will likely be the best to ever lace a boot and is already the best player in the league.

Cleary was very solid in defence and is composed beyond his years but come on...... nothing and no one compares to Kayln Ponga. He's ridiculous
Yeah right lol

Give me one example of what he does on the field "he has no right in doing". Fact is, his skillset is limited to goose stepping and throwing the occassional cutout ball.
This, and give a few year when he cant do that step anymore, than who is he?

Ponga is just a freak, in terms of raw talent and athletic ability the only players ive seen that compare at such a young age are Jarryd Hayne and SBW. Hayne at 21 had Ponga(now) covered comfortably and SBW had him covered at 18 but Ponga is certainly in that conversation.

Cleary is very good but he is a very different prospect to Ponga, you cant compare them.

Ta.

He’s good, but can he play halfback?

He can play everything.

Yeah Ivan has been saying for years that Nathan isn't the superstar individual freak type like Ponga. He's a consistent workhorse who won't let you down.

Ponga has the potential to be like Lockyer but with the footwork of RTS.

Cleary plays like a 200 game experience halfback for his age but im not sold on him being one of the greats. I reckon he'll be pearce v.2 except without all the hate.
That is highly doubtful.
