NRL 'cougar' bashed at hotel: report

Self-confessed NRL "cougar" Charmyne Palavi was reportedly rushed to hospital last night after being bashed by another woman at a popular Queensland hotel.

A Current Affair reports Ms Palavi was drinking at the Normanby Hotel with her fiance Michael when a woman approached her and began abusing her.

Ms Palavi "tried ignoring the woman's taunts" but things turned physical and Ms Palavi was knocked to the ground.

The 38-year-old was taken to hospital and treated for a suspected broken wrist.

CCTV footage screened on A Current Affair showed a woman believed to be Ms Palavi walking outside and talking on her mobile phone before she was taken away.

It is not known if a police complaint has been filed: the hotel said the only knowledge they had of the incident is when Ms Palavi told the bouncer what had happened.

Ms Palavi made headlines in May after claiming she had woken up to find a leading NRL player having sex with her at the Oaks Hyde Park Plaza in 2007.

But the former tanning salon operator said she would never make a police complaint because she feared she would be accused of "asking for it".

Ms Palavi is currently involved in a legal stoush with radio station 2UE after she was allegedly labelled a s**t by one of the presenters.
