i have no problem with the CEO driving a sponsors car as long as it wasn't part of the deal to get the sponorship, if it's just a extra who really cares?
I'd almost say the opposite?
Spagnolo is a crafty businessman who brings a high level of financial nous to the board. It means he does things which many of us might not like, but it means we were the best performed club financially in the past year; and his ruthless attitude seems to mean that we're very competitive in the player market.
That's none of our f**king business.
Suity
we have a crisis whenever the telegraph needs a headlineIs it just me or does Parra have a 'crisis' about 3 times a year?
Well yeah. Having assets of $3m at his age after a decade or so of solid income should not raise any eyebrows. He might also be getting a handy parlimentary pension which would add to his Eels salary.

It was Fairfax this time around Champ.

My views are and comments;
- He needs to fall on his sword, cannot believe his wife would just go off and spend $35k on his business credit card- (pin number or signature!!!)
- Credit card statements are received monthly- did he just ignore the transactions???
- Spagnolo very silly in lending him money given his past
- Why is a CEO driving a car provided by a sponsor
- He stated he was confident he had "cleared his debts to club", he should know 100%!
- How do you purchase a $920k and $1.9m properties within 2 years on $270k a year salary with a wife and 9 children?
im not sure does it count under fringe benefits tax? even if its legal its not a good look it opens up a can of worms and could look like favouritism which might piss off the other sponsorsWhat's wrong with driving a sponsors car? Is it a crime??

Wow, to be honest it's hard to think of another quote that could be more scathing of the current practices of the current Board. This is clearly nothing to do with Fitzy or Ando, no matter how some people on here might like to paint it....SMH article said:Mr Duncan declined to comment on the Osborne matter yesterday, except to say: ''The recent decisions of the Board go against all my business principles which place me in a position of no longer being able to meet my expectations and duties as a director.''
On driving the car, the one that came with the job was in a bad accident and was off the road for a number of weeks. The sponsor lent the CEO a car until the club's one was repaired
The accident was close to my home and was pretty nasty, unfortunately it was the CEO's daughter who was driving. That part of the headline is a massive beat up to be honest, I have no idea on the rest of the stuff, but on the surface it isnt a good look
Why?
Usually there are strict rules around work/company cars. At least in my experience. In professional organisations. Ones of the type businessman Glenn Duncan would feel comfortable remaining a part of, for example. Why not? Didn't your parents lend you their car occasionally when you were a teenager, or give you driving lessons?
