Rugby union is God awful,Sonny Bill Williams will be able to play in the Super 15 until he is 50 years old against those 2nd rate athletes

Seriously, is this a rugby league forum or an AFL/Union forum? Any growth in our game is a good thing. Maybe we should be celebrating the games growth instead of comparing our great game to other sports which may or may not have the same traditions and passions that our game has.
For those ppl who are bagging off the Gold Coast just remember that the team only exists because the community fought for it against other regions. Is there another sport in this country that has at least 5 viable teams fighting for the next spot in the competition?
We should be celebrating the achievements of our grate game instead of of kicking the boot into it at the first opportunity.
There is nothing wrong with expecting the best but great things occur from humble beginnings. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither was football.

Well its irrelevant if they can't get them through the gates. They should have built up their fan base before trying to charge these ridiculous prices.

Do f**k off, many people are rebuilding their lives and you think they can all drop everything and go to the footy?

Wake up ffs.

To be fair, the Gold Coast is probably the only place in all of Queensland that hasn't been affected by some sort of weather event this summer...

thats 74,792 for the day
148614 for the round .... 51,386 to get to the 200K mark

with good weather tomorrow & Monday
we'll do it easily

Should do it :) largely good weather, maybe a shower around in Canberra but otherwise fine, similar in Sydney with some storms on the ranges tomorrow (which are more likely than not to stay on there rather than hit Penrith)

Bit harsh to criticize nz about a one off. That would be like rooting Jen Hawkins and being sad that it was a one night stand.

Be happy u did it ....

The breaking of the 200k mark will be hugely flattered by that fact the battle of Eden was a one off spectacle that will never ever produce that type of crowd ever again. Take that first time magic appeal of the Warriors playing at Eden park + earthquake scenario away and that game would have got 17k at most playing at the Warriors normal home ground

Don't get too excited

Loook you are right in the strictly limited sense that there won't be another 38,000 in the foreseeable future but so what?

The point of the membership drives etc is to try to push attendances across the board upwards. There is no reason at all why the NRL cannot be attracting an average of 20,000 to its games within 4 to 5 years if things work out. No reason at all. THAT is the big picture.

God you are dumb,Warriors made the finals last year and only averaged 13k at home, you magically think they would replicate a one off occasion(first game at Eden) with another 38k crowd in a normal regular season game

thats as good as any super rugby franchise in NZ last year
in fact it was better then 3 of them

didn't the Auckland Blues play to 33K in their first game of the year ?

FLUKE FLUKE FLUKE ................;-)

peanut

Grow up and stop with the deflection. This isn't about AFL vs NRL so stop trying to bring in that BS. I don't care if the suns average is 1000 i still would like to see more from the titans.

Seriously? You think the titans can never average more than 20K?

you were the one that turned into an AFL V NRL argument by mentioning the Suns ... " oh how good are they " oh oh ....wow:roll:

I said give it time
& we'll see how good they end up....

Titans have more facebook members than the suns, IF the suns get more to their first game than the titans its because it's their first game ever. Also because their tickets will be 5 times cheaper.

Come on Titans, drop those ticket prices.
