Akuila Uate - 19 games, 20 tries, 24 linebreaks, 105 tackle breaks, average 13 runs for 140 metres

Brett Morris - 17 games, 16 tries, 17 linebreaks, 78 tackle breaks, average 13 runs for 139 metres

Manu Vatuvei - 13 games, 14 tries, 12 linebreaks, 53 tackle breaks, average 12 runs for 121 metres

Lote Tuqiri - 19 games, 13 tries, 16 linebreaks, 94 tackle breaks, average 13 runs for 128 metres

All have been absolutely devastating this season, in terms of tries scored, getting their hands dirty in the hitups too. Vatuvei's figures are slightly warped in that three of his games, he pulled out injured at half time (in a frustrating stretch of the season between Round 2 and Round 13 in which he played 3 games, none of which he managed to get past 44 minutes of play before succumbing to injury).

These four are just a class above the next rung of wingers, including Merritt, Perrett, T-Rex, Robertson, Nightingale, Talanoa, Vidot, Gordon, etc.

I would say Uate would be in the lead for this award at the moment.

He has a had a great season so far and is awesome to watch. He would be a worthy winner.

I hope BMozz can still pinch it though.

Brett Morris and Uate are the complete opposite,Uate scores tries all by himself without any help from his joke of a team,Brett Morris gets everything put on a platter for him from his teammates usually resulting in a clear run to the try line.

LOL @ Brett Morris is good because he can run fast with nobody in front of him.

Haynetrain = Biggest c**k-nose on this forum.

Dally M for Moron of LU.

Uate's been the winger of the year without doubt.......Manu has been off the paddock too much. I think Morris has been down on form. Lote's in with a shot......but I think Uate deserves it....

Uate. Absolute star, i had my doubts over the off season as to weather he'd ever be as good as i had heard. I was wrong.

He's the only thing good in that entire town.

Aku tops it for mine. Has been at his attacking best all season and has matured quite a bit as a player.

Vatuvei.

Not only lethal out wide, but the way he establishes a roll on, on early tackles is 2nd to none.

Interesting, hadn't thought of that...the Beast plays left side for the Warriors I think, and Uate should still be on the right side with the Mad Dog. What a duel indeed!

For lack of other people putting his name up on here, for a 3,2,1 id give Nightingale my 1.

More heart than any other winger in the comp, throws himself into anything, almost never makes a wrong decision or an error, difuses bombs incredibly for a bloke his size, fights for every inch in every tackle! takes an absolute punishing every week and gets up every time ready for more.

Not your flashest winger going around, but in my team he'd be one of the first picked every week!

Vatuvei maybe a tad slower
But head on the beast sh*ts all over Uate
Both good players no doubt moreso vatuvei as he has acomplished way more thus far

I hope Uate thrashes him

Depends what you mean by thrash

In a race Uate will have the advantage and in your words thrash him

In the skills department its up for anyone on their day

In a fight well Uate will get his arse kicked (ask Matt King)

Yeah, Monty Betham would have made a great winger with his fighting skills. Absolutely essential...
