Fittler did not play his entire career under Gould.

Which Knights players have followed Bennett from the Dragons? Please don't say Scott and Smith.

Cuthbertson would be another... Why aren't I allowed to say 2 of the other players that moved there exactly?

As for Freddy, he played all bar 4 games he could under Gould until Gould retired. Even then, Fittler had big problems with Murray, who got the arse and Gould was quickly brought in as coaching director

Change of clubs ?

Following the one coach?

Doubt it

It is f**king farked up.

It is, but only because Boyd has clearly handled it poorly. If not players then no doubt there would be members of the coaching staff that have invariably followed Bennett from club to club (as well as other coaches).

Again, agreed it is a screwed up situation but mainly because of how Boyd has handled it. His apparent mental issues give a good indication as to why that is

Cuthbertson played for Manly under Hasler then went to the Sharks THEN Dragons so not the same coach his entire career which is what you said.

Likewise Smith and Scott played under different coaches.

This is exteme .

Bennet should have seen this long ago .

That's not fair, in the last few months his grandmothers health has deteriorated severely, his best mate may never walk again, his long time mentor is moving and he's having marital problems, his support network is crumbling around him. He's had a year that would rattle the best of us and he has to live in the public eye.

I haven't read this whole thing but
Bennett needs to take some blame here.

He has let this bloke follow his every move his entire adult life.
It is f**king sick.

This thread is fast becoming a line-up of the LU wankers producing their crap. Good to see Bunniesman has not posted anything silly.

Boyd is a loony tune. Nothing more nothing less.

Yes, because people that are mental and nothing more play 20 Origin games on a regular basis

He is a talented footballer. To pretend he is not shows a massive lack of understanding of the game. Or by your "nothing more" comment did you mean he wasn't a Pulitzer Prize award winning author or an economical theorist?

What's up ?
Couldn't work out how to link this topic to kicking the sharks out?
You should start your umpteenth thread on the subject .
Just do it in the cave right from the start ... Save the mods the hassle ey?

Just went back and had a look at that 'famous' interview for the first time.
Its the stuff of legend! Has there ever been a worse sports interview than that?

Poor reporters.

"Idris was a key figure in Penrith's 26-10 round-17 win, almost unstoppable at times with the ball and scoring a second-half try, afterwards gesturing with the "crazy" sign"

If someone who has PERSONALLY diagnosed with a mental illness has no qualms in calling themself crazy, then how in the world could "crazy" or "loony" be an offensive or denigrating comment. Excessive political correctness seems to have enveloped the remaining brain matter you had. Euphemistically referring to mentally ill people as "crazies" does not constitute an offensive statement, especially when it is paired with a great suggestion as to how to raise the profile of mental illness within the NRL, as we have already seen with the State of Mind round. However, don't let your rigid views get in the way of a completely viable suggestion. f**k me dead.

Do you even know what a euphemism is?

Mate anyone could see this was always going to end in tears.
Bennett should have seen it coming.
He has had the bloke in his pocket for a decade.
He encouraged Boyd to follow him around from club to club city to city like a little lap dog .
suddenly Bennett bails and Boyd is lost.

FMD it is not hard to understand.

Unless you are a close confidant of Boyds you have nfi what you are talking about. Trying to assign blame for this just makes you look bad.

Edit: I dont like Boyd or Bennet very much but to come to the conclusion that this is somehow Bennets fault or partially his fault is ridiculous. Boyd has looked lost all season for one thing not to mention the numerous other dramas that have happened in Newcastle this year and the fact that Boyd is so private. For all we know Boyd might of gone of the rails as teen without Bennet.

There are so many people who suffer depression and they themselves dont even know why but you think the cause in Boyds case is obvious, its just silly mate.

carch, for someone who had a hissyfit over a joke about blonde hair, to go making light of mental illness probably isn't a good thing..

I suffer from Complex PTSD, severe depression and borderline personality disorder. And to be honest I diddnt find what leaguelegend2010 suggested offensive at all not even his delivery was that bad.

I play for the south side ravens a Gridiron team and all my teammates and coaches call me the nutbag.

It is what it is. I actually find it more offensive when people walk on eggshells around me or take offence for me.

Political correctness can be far to overzealous these days. But to each there own I guess.

As to Boyd I am happy he is seeking help I just hope he takes it serious enough to follow through with on going therapy and support and stays clear from any quick fix options.

Hate him as a player but actually quite like his quirky personality.

Good luck

FFS.
FTR I bet my balls I know more about it than you .
I also bet my balls I know exactly where Boyd is getting help.
All I've said is bennett probably should have let him stand on his own two feet long ago.

Thankyou!

Most people I've met with mental health issues are like yourself. I even tried to provide these idiotic forumers with an example of someone with mental health issues making light of their situation (Jamal Idris), but they were still consumed with political correctness. Absolute idiots. They let one comment ("crazies" - hardly offensive) override the viable proposal I made to remove the stigma of mental health in the game.

There would be numerous posters on this forum that have suffered depression or know someone close to them who has or even both.

And even if Bennet leaving is a contributing factor I dont see how he should be blaimed for it. Its very easy in hindsight to sit on a forum and say "Bennet should of known" but in reality thats bullshit. I know families who have lost someone to suicide and they say they had no idea the person was unhappy.
