Angel Williams, 25, from Deep South Wrestling is scheduled to make her WWE debut at tonight's SmackDown tapings (Smackdown's being taped tonight as to not conflict with Halloween). It is believed that she'll be working as a heel manager for a SmackDown star. It is not known as to who that star is.

Williams was originally set to be called up back in January, but she got injured just mere days before her scheduled debut. She had to be on crutches for about a month due to a torn lateral ligament in her knee. On February 28, 2006, she underwent knee surgery to repair her torn ACL. Williams would recover from the knee injury by late May, though she seems to be still feeling the effects of the injury because she wears a thick brace whenever she wrestles - just like Victoria. WWE was planning on replacing Jillian Hall with Williams as JBL's manager, but Vince McMahon was so impressed with Hall's acting abilities after The Boogeyman ate the "blemish" off of her face (which was supposed to be her blowoff angle), that he kept her in that role for a few more months. Due to this, Williams was left without a spot in WWE when she finally healed.

Williams signed a developmental contract with WWE in December 2004 and has been appearing at DSW shows ever since the promotion's debut in September 2005. She made her wrestling debut in 2000 by working for several independent promotions around Canada.

There appears to be some confusion online regarding some developmental Divas being called up to SmackDown at this week's tapings. First off, Angel Williams will be the new manager of The Gymini in a deal similar to Michelle McCool and Idol Stevens & KC James. They probably won't be appearing on this week's SmackDown considering that they worked a dark match, but they should be up any week.

Secondly, Jimmy Wayne Yang will debut a new valet this week, and she's a skinny young blonde girl as well. Some people seemed to confuse her with Williams due to their similar looks, but this is an entirely different person. Yang's new valet will be the first contestant who was eliminated in this year's Diva Search contest, Amy Zidian, who is 19 or 20 years old. She was the contestant who was shocked to be the first person eliminated, especially considering that she planned on throwing thongs out to the crowd afterwards. Then she started crying and all the other contestants comforted her before she left.

Though she was the first person eliminated, to the surprise of many people, including her, WWE hired her anyways a few weeks later along with Milena Roucka and Maryse Ouellet. She was promptly sent down to OVW for training and she made her first appearance for the promotion just last week in a Halloween costume contest. She then appeared on last weekend's swing of ECW house shows in bikini contests, apparently replacing Rebecca DiPietro for the weekend. And then without warning, WWE called Zidian up for TV and she appeared at Sunday's SmackDown tapings as the new valet of Jimmy Wayne Yang.

Lita's WWE contract is scheduled to expire on December 1st. As of a week ago, the feeling was that she'd finish things up at Cyber Sunday or the night after on RAW, but it looks like she'll be staying at least a little while longer because she was just added to the U.K. tour that starts on Wednesday. Maria and Candice Michelle were pulled from the tour in favor of Lita vs. Mickie James title matches. Once her contract expires, Lita plans on concentrating on her punk rock band and doing some indy film work. The general feeling within WWE is that Lita will eventually sign with TNA due to the easier schedule.

Some heat still lingers between Melina and Mickie James because James was rubbing things in to her because she got to over in their match on RAW on 10/23. After she pinned Melina, Mickie taunted her by mocking the pose Melina would do in the center of the ring during her time with MNM. These two have a past of disliking each other that dates back to their time in Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Candice Michelle was injured while shooting her photo layout in the current issue of Muscle Mag International. She was on a beach when a wave came in and knocked her into a rock, which nearly broke her foot. They finished the shoot right then and there. Candice then had to be carried up the stairs to the parking lot.

WWE seems to be implying that Ashley Massaro will be posing for Playboy in the near future. On WWE.com, Playboy cover girl Cindy Margolis told Ashley she'd be a great model for the magazine. RAW Diva Candice Michelle was a Playboy cover model, too, and she offers WWE.com some insight on Ashley's tough decision-making process. It is unknown at the moment if Playboy has actually offered Ashley a chance to pose for the magazine, or if she has already agreed to pose for the magazine and WWE is just leading people on before making an official announcement. Furthermore, Ashley has already posed nude for Playboy before. Under the pseudonym Ryan MacKenzie, she appeared in the "Cyber Girl of the Week" feature in January 2004.

According to PWInsider.com, SmackDown Diva Ashley Massaro will indeed be posing nude for Playboy. WWE should be making the official announcement soon. In the last week, WWE has been teasing the idea of Ashley doing Playboy on the company website what with Playboy covergirls Cindy Margolis and Candice Michelle advising her to go for it. Anyways, her spread will be released around Wrestlemania.

Furthermore, Ashley has already posed nude for Playboy before. Under the pseudonym Ryan MacKenzie, she appeared in the "Cyber Girl of the Week" feature in January 2004.

Nattie Neidhart, 24, daughter of Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, has been offered a contract by WWE. She's expected to sign, if she hasn't already. Neidhart has streamlined her physique in the past year or so as she looks very "WWE Diva-ish" nowadays.

Debbie Killian, who is perhaps the best American woman wrestler to ever work full time in Japan when she competed as Debbie Malenko, called John Laurinaitis asking for a job with WWE. She made her wrestling debut in 1990 and generally competed in Japan until sometime in 1993 when her brief career was cut short at the mere age of 22 by a severe injury. Debbie Malenko was trained at the Malenko school of wrestling in Florida and originally went by the name Debbie Drake. When she went to Japan, they let her use the Malenko name because she was such a great worker. Anyways, Killian is only 35 years old, hasn't competed in at least 13 years, and doesn't exactly fit the "WWE Diva mold", so don't hold your breath on this one.

Nattie Neidhart was on "The LAW" last night and she said that her fiancée T.J. Wilson and herself were recently in Deep South Wrestling trying out. As reported earlier, Neidhart said that Wilson landed a developmental contract with WWE. Regarding her possible WWE status, Neidhart said that she would love to wrestle for them and that they are "working things out" at the moment.

Former WWE diva, Nidia stated in a recent interview that she is pregnant and living in Italy. She also then went to to saying that her career as a professional wrestler is likely over. Nidia claimed that Linda Miles decided to quit WWE at the same time. Of course, Nidia didn't quit, but was in fact released by WWE.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Nattie Neidhart has signed a developmental deal with WWE. Although, during her appearance on The LAW radio show on Sunday night, Neidhart said that she was "working things out" with WWE. Furthermore, nothing official has been announced yet. If and when she signs, its been indicated that she wouldn't be spending much time in either OVW or DSW. Apparently, WWE is interested in calling her up to one of the main rosters in a relatively short amount of time.

Its been reported down in Ohio Valley Wrestling, that they have Beth Phoenix dressing, looking and even doing some of the same mannerisms of one Trish Stratus. Phoenix recently lost the OVW Women's Championship a few weeks ago to Katie Lea (UK's Nikita).

2006 Diva Search contestants Maryse Ouellet and Milena Roucka are currently training in Ohio Valley Wrestling. They have yet to appear on OVW television, although, the other Diva Search contestant, Amy Zidian, is currently appearing on their shows. Also, Maryse probably won't be making any more inconsequential appearances on SmackDown until they find a full-time role for her.

You should expect a heavy influx of brand new "WWE Divas" to join the promotion in 2007. World Wrestling Entertainment is currently on what is being called a "bikini model signing spree."

The WWE overlords have told Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis to sign between ten and fifteen bikini models. Furthermore, it doesn't matter if they have seen pro wrestling before in their lives. Basically, you should expect to see a whole lot more "Kelly Kelly's" than trained women wrestlers getting called up to WWE in the near future. Although, recent rating trends have indicated that the women segments haven't drawn as well as they have in the past. Then again, it doesn't seem to be of much concern for WWE as there would be some hot new young meat for the males to hit on backstage - seriously.

WWE currently has 23 female performers on the main roster. In addition to that, there's probably between 15 and 20 more girls down in the developmental leagues (though maybe half of them are under contract to WWE), and they're all vying for a shot to join the big leagues as well. It should be interesting to see if WWE will actually have 30+ women on the main roster by the end of 2007 (and perhaps between 50 and 60 girls affiliated with WWE if you include OVW and DSW), or if WWE will be forced to release some of the lower tier WWE Divas (and probably a good portion of the developmental girls) to make room for the next generation of WWE Divas as there's only so many people they can have on television - and perhaps under contract. At the very least, WWE's latest directive will surely put a lot of added pressure on all but the top female performers in the company for the time being.

Well thats Vince for you. Seriously, although its good for the eye candy, many of the divas dont even do anything anyway and they will just be there to waste space. I'd rather see divas who can wrestle and rebuild the Women's Division. Seeing that the main contendors are Lita and Mickey James with Melina as a sometimes performer.

whats wrong with kelly kelly i ask and the resounding answers is nothing she is hot and plays her part quite well id like to see her get more time and perhaps a bigger part perhaps a switch to raw to test her out.

But we do need more wrestling females after all we have plenty who do nothing.

I'd like to see ashley switch to raw she can clearly wrestle but there is nobody on smackdown to put her up against over there.

Now dont get me wrong when i say they cant wrestle i dont mean it as they cant do anything but none of them can own a match like the above 3 none of them have those skills too keep the crowd focused on the wrestling moves.

And thats what the wwe needs like back in the days with chyna etc they could own a match and mix it up with anyone instead of just coming down with long legs nice ass and tits showing off to the crowd then getting rolled up for a fast 3 count not that i have a real problem with that but you get my point.

I'd suggest you watch Jillian's matches before she came to the WWE. She is a good wrestler. Not as good as Trish, but come off it we won't get another women's wrestler like Trish for a while yet.

We already have wrestlers like trish in lita and mickie granted mickie isnt quite as good as trish yet but given guidance she can be better then trish ever was not saying trish wasnt that good because she was but mickie can make it that far its just a matter of finding other divas who can work with mickie so they can all make it as close to trish as possible.

Beth Phoenix is the one they will be pushing post Survivor Series. Watch her matches that she had in OVW and you'll realise why. She is very athletic and is good on the mic. Mickie and Beth will be the top 2. Then you have Melina and Michelle MCool on the next level down. Then you have the others that are just eye candy.
