A lot of things are sins. Things we do every day. It's not just gays. It is designed that way. Cast a lustful eye towards the woman next door, that is a sin. Tell the smallest lie, that is a sin. Straight sex outside marriage is a sin, as is remarrying after a divorce in most cases. There is no-one in the world who is without it, and thus no-one who does not need the forgiveness provided by the sacrifice of Christ. That is the Christian doctrine. Gays are not alone in sin.It doesn't help teenagers/young adults struggling with their sexuality for people with national platforms to come out and condemn homosexuality as a sin.
Singling out one sin while ignoring the rest, as Izzy appears to have done, probably isn't helpful.
Hell, by the way, is these days defined as an state without God, which isn't much of a threat to non-believers anyway.
