If anybody is erect at the thought of Dean Young, I’d suggest you seek the sage advices of @This Year? or @Dragon David or @justadragon who know their SGI better than I know my kids.

They’ll give you an honest candid assessment unlike Clint.

I think they might suggest he is capable of being of a fair assistant on a good day but handing over the keys to the ferari is an altogether different proposition.

He was a different kind of player, a role model ball playing forward, dynamic…strike…but that’s where one pulls out.

He could bring Albert onto the board I suppose.

On 13 August 2020, Young was named interim head coach of the Dragons after Paul McGregor resigned mid-season. Following the club's round 17 loss against North Queensland in the 2020 NRL season, Young called out his players during the press conference saying "Same shit, different day," Young said. "It went wrong in blokes not getting their jobs done. Again, for the second week in a row, the game was there to be won in the last five minutes which is what this club wants to be about. "We want to be fighting for the full 80 minutes, right to the death"

On 16 September 2020, Young informed St. George Illawarra that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season, despite being offered a position alongside incoming head coach Anthony Griffin.

Following the club's round 19 defeat to Newcastle where the Red V lost 42–18, an angry Young spoke to the media saying "We wouldn’t have beaten Dapto the way we played in the first half. It was Under 8s stuff".

Which is why he’s on the clubs short list.

No wonder there’s been very few leaks.

Yes, we really are the envy of every other NRL club. Such smoothe operators we are... We're the Sade of the NRL.....
Well the 2 best assistants in the game , and most promising options as future coaches want the the eels job, so we must have something going for us...

It was someone from the eels who literally leaked this story… or we’d be none the wiser.

Probably a good thing because Barrett would be a better head coach than Young - and that’s saying something…
Or it's player managers....

I sense a trend Barrett, Ryles, Young all part of the Dragons sides in the mid 2000s when they continually choked part of the process.

When's Nathan Brown getting an interview.
