If the decision is made today compared to a few weeks from now, why would it be harder?

Getting the decision right is more important than making an uninformed, quick decision. This should NEVER be a quick process. And yes a month would be a quick decision IF the process is done right
Its been 5 weeks today since BA was sacked officially you can tap on another 2 weeks before that when the board had signed off he would be sacked on May 2.

That has given them 7 weeks basically to decide on who they want.

Not 7 mins.

I can't see a decision made this week with origin.

If they haven't made a decision by the Souths game next Thursday then its dragged on way too long and gives further credence to the theory they either have no idea what they are looking for or unsure what direction they want to go.

They have opened up the process and let some deadshit coaches get interviewed which is fine.

But eventually you have to make a decision and its a major concern if they are continue to hesitate & drag on making the final appointment.

Atm the future of the club and contracts are in a holding pattern waiting for a decision to be made.

After missing Bennett it's clear they decided they wanted a 10 year coach.
So that's why they are chasing the best 45 year old out there.
If it was Ryles I think it would have been done by now but if feels like they are waiting for Hannay to get through soo game 2.
With Slater as his main reference I feel he gets the job.

Everyone is entitled to vent, but FFS if they don't do something to your timetable, it doesn't mean that the coach hunt committee are = Mr Bean, Mr Magoo and Patrick from SpongeBob.

This appointment of a coach for 3 or 5 years is the most significant moment in the club's history since 16 July, 2016 when Steve Sharp encouraged Minister Troy Grant to put us into administration to stave off the wolves circling the club.

I get that we are all impatient for change / good news, but these things do take time. Even when a decision is made, sometimes the announcement is deferred to a date that is mutually advantageous.

I recall Paul Kent making a scene on 360 once over his "entitlement" to be told about what was happening at the NRL over the delicate matter of the CBA with the Players Association. Steam was coming out his ears because there were no leaks. That's what it feels like on here.

To me, not naming the coach yet points to Hannay. If it’s Ryles could name him anytime seeing as Origin wouldn’t be an issue.

May preference would by Hannay, so perhaps wishful thinking as well.

If we sign Ryles he’ll be Kearney mk 2. If another team signs him up he’ll be Bellamy Mk 2. Just the way things seem to work.

They have had a lot of time to appoint the next big coach... There has not been one this century if you listen to the vocal minority on this forum (who are dead wrong). I wouldn't shed a tear if any current player was replaced. Is it a good waste of ten years to get rid of Brad Arthur when they allegedly had faith in him all this time without a (better) replacement ready to to go.

Can you declare any affiliation you have with the Eels/board? They don't tank a whole season due to secrecy. You think the sponsors like that?
