Why have a process in place for appealing a decision, then the head of the NRL threatens the club if it is used? So many things the club has done wrong but how many have the NRL made as well. Seems as if Todd makes all the decisions for the NRL and it stinks of a payback for sacking Seward

A strong front office will help restore the Parramatta Eels to the great club it could be & should be!

I agree with the first part of what you say but I don't think it's payback for sacking Seward. After all, Greenberg led him to his own destruction anyway.

Look guys we seem too focused on hanging Greenburg out dry which like the rest of u I would love to see, but if we forget the politics and legalities which I know is a big call, let's look at this thru BA s and the players eyes, personally I think if this happens we will hang on to the coach and players as this is the first of many steps to redemption for this once great club, in a perfect world Greenburg would be found out and we would b in Top 4, this is not going to happen so let's cut our losses and move on, I for one cannot handle waiting till October to see what transpires, this needs to stop I don't care anymore if TG is dirty he will eventually get found out, I just care about US the fans and the cub moving on.

So if what an appeal could result in the 12 points being reduced to 4, 6 or 8 ? What if there are genuine grounds for appeal that have fallen on deaf Toddy ears ?

Parramatta Eels board to be sacked in days: Troy Grant
July 16 2016 - 2:05PM
  • Jamie Marcuson

Deputy NSW Premier Troy Grant will sack the Parramatta Eels board of directors in a matter of days, after the board appealed their fines by the NRL and stopped plans for an emergency general meeting on Friday.

Speaking to 2GB's 'The Continuous Call Team', Grant, also the Minister for Justice, Police and Racing, said he had the authority to appoint a temporary administrator if the board was deemed to be "not fit to govern", on the advice of the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority.

"Obviously the news is terrible out of Parramatta," he said. "If there's a call from the fans, the members, and the broader industry of registered clubs, then I will move onto it immediately, and as soon as that advice is at hand, make a determination and advise everyone."

Grant said he hopes to have that advice "as soon as Monday".

Sacked in days: Deputy Premier Troy Grant has said the Eels board will be sacked in days.

Grant described the results of the NRL inquiry as "significant" and criticised the Eels board for selfishness.

"You've got to put service above self in anything that you do in public administration, or administration of a body that's on behalf of others," he said. "I'm not sure that's being done."

More to come

I can't see any real danger in pushing on with an appeal if there is reasonable grounds. It isn't about Greenberg it's about what's right.

But it would be good if we could f**k him up in the process.

I would love to see us get x amount of points back, tho due to the year we have had the pessimist in me can't see this happening, wen all said and done Gronk we did cheat over several years and deserved to be punished, TG may well still get found out just like us "slowly but surly "

This will be more likely to get through If the GO5 were GONE.. Let the Club take this on WHEN they are out of office with NO influence. Even the members of the board that are left are just as bad and making muppets out of us members. They are puppets of the GO5 .. What everyone is currently seeing is that the GO5 are trying to save their collective arses..

Reading those bits in red means that this is a headline with no real substance

"If there's a call from the fans, the members, and the broader industry of registered clubs, then I will move onto it immediately, and as soon as that advice is at hand, make a determination and advise everyone.

But if there isn't we didn't lie and you can't say we didn't try.

So, that leaves my first question - who will be left to run the appeal?

Surely Sharpe, who was moving forward with the appeal, wouldn't leave us in a position where we could not follow through with it?
