So you think the club has been on the right path since Smithy left???? Kearney has raised some points a lot of people have been unhappy about here for quite a while.

In the last 5 years juniors we have lost

Keating
Hodko

Williams
T -Rex
Kelly
Maloney
Gardiner
INU
Mateo
Smith
Taia
Farah
Hauraki

There are 4 halves there that are light yrs ahead of what we have now and thats not including Mateo, not all those we could have or should have kept but that is quite of list of juniors let along other talent we have brought in.

Those halves were shown the door by hagan. David williams had multiple injuries at his time at parra.

Hauraki was terrible for parra & there was no way we would match the offers mateo & inu got. Plus they dished out rubbish for a couple of years. Gardner was never gonna get a chance as long as hayne was here & had to leave to play first grade. :(

Kelly might be the only one but he still had a attitude problem while he was here.

Smith had issues that were out of our control & again hagan was here at the time

Lets be realistic. Bellamy turned melbourne around in 1 year.

When i read stuff like bennet has given kearney the heads up to go after sandow makes me laugh. Is kearney in charge of recruitment or is bennet???

Let's be realistic Bellamy had arguably a better team to work with. Inarguable h had better halves.

Keating wasn't re-signed by Ando, i like to blame Hages for a lot of things but we can't blame him for that. Kelly was also allowed to leave under Ando.Hages set this club back 5 yrs and i feel sory for Ando but i really doubt he was the man to repair the damage.

I'm pretty sure the talk of setting up an academy for juniors was around when Anderson was coach, maybe he could not make it happen, hopefully Kearney and Nolan can.

Look at what Nolan has helped to accomplish at the Broncos, recruiting him has got to be one of the smartest decisions our management has made in a long time.

He had most of QLD to choose from, he may be good but no-one will know till we see how he goes here!

He just really needs to make sure we keep our best prospects and he will do well!

The coach comes out with some positive news and comments and the glass half full brigade is out there trying to talk it down.

We need to support what is going on, anyone that thought the roster left by the previous coaches were realistically of NRL standard were dreaming. Outisde of the coaches and CEO currently at the club, I speak to a lot of the admin guys who were all saying what SK has alluded to before he was appointed, this is not an anti DA etc, it is a realistic portrait of the problems that needed to be fixed

Agreed. Anyone out there really happy with the quality of the TYC, Wenty and Eels squads? We have an excellent junior nursery, probably the envy of the league, and yet look at where we are.

I may be synicle but I will wait for results before I believe a word as we have heard this all before, not specifics but the usual "we are doing this to fix that" etc.

I definitely wish SK well and I want him to succeed, obviously but I ain't seen nothing even slightly resembling any of this so far......other than all the offseason talk.....

I like many am becoming frustrated with all the talk and nothing ever being delivered :(

If Premierships were won by talking things up, Parramatta would be unbeatable

Well Glenn, at least the current staff aren't talking it up, the players have to I guess.

What would you rather hear, what they attempting to do, which is what we are hearing now, which is pretty sensible,.

All good to say what they are attempting to do, but when you see insipid performances week in week out in the basic areas of ball handling, defence and discipline the talk becomes more and more like the hot air you expect from a politican.

Parramatta Academy is a brilliant idea!!!

Yep, what a fantastic Idea, I wonder what we are talking about though?

If this is the pick the best young juniors and bring them along, get them playing 20's and into first grade, then isn't that the High Performance Program that Matt Cameron instigated last year?

Or is it the Western Sydney Academy, which gives kids outside the top 25 in their age group a shot a rep footy, which was set up in co-operation with Penrith, under Brian Smith, and that now operates with Parramatta, Penrith, West's Tigers and Canterbury?

All I want is to stop losing the trent hodkinsons of the world to other clubs. Speaking of the Academy the first name they should put in there is Kelepi Talangoa (sp). Kid is a machine and had a great game in the Ball on the weekend along with the 5/8 errington

Well I think the best way is to continue to talk to them when they are injured.

I don't know who to blame for that loss, be it Andrew Hill, be it Michael Hagan. I can tell you I was there that night that he dislocated his knee cap and in doing so tore his ACL. I have been told that in the dressing room he was told be someone senior at the club to no lose hope, and to do his best to get back because the club wanted to keep him.

Having said that I am told Trent was put on a watch list in SG Ball for a move up to Flegg, and when he was old enough was one of the first picked for the Flegg (then changed to Toyota cup) side.

Retention and Recruitment at our club has not just been a problem for the last 3 year or the last 3 coaches. I think it has been a problem since 2003.

I haven't seen the Junior Reps yet this year. I speak to people who do. But Kelipi and Troy were great last year I think playing a year young in SG Ball. They are good kids as well from what I hear.

Hodgkinson would be no better for us now than Robson is. The real half talent that was wasted was Tim Smith, and that was because there was no care for him in FG. When he started drinking with the likes of Ridell, he was gone.

Gotta give Kearney credit for his words. I'll give him more credit when they become deeds.

We'll only do that by offering them contracts. If we don't offer them a contract and another club does, then no amount of academies or youth programs will keep these players around.

And Trent Hodkinson is so f**king overrated it's not funny.

Or maybe he wasn't given the opportunity too....
