The backrow is now

11. Watmough
12. Gallen
13. Hindmarsh

Lol @ the Gallen haters

Ftr I like that combo
Watmough can hit and is a great attacker
Gallen will have to protect lockyer in D and look out for the offload
Hindy will tackle and tackle

Both hindy and gal are 80 minute guys

Would be better having Hindmarsh "protecting" Lockyer IMO. Since he can actually defend, and I think Gallen is the better lock of the two anyhow..

Billy Slater, Brett Morris, Greg Inglis, Justin Hodges, Jarryd Hayne, Darren Lockyer (capt), Johnathan Thurston, Petero Civoniceva, Cameron Smith, Ben Hannant, Anthony Watmough, Paul Gallen, Nathan Hindmarsh. Interchange: Robbie Farah, Brett White, Luke Lewis, David Shillington, Trent Waterhouse, Kurt Gidley (two to be omitted).

sh*t load of utilities right there. Don't think Waterhouse will be too effective from the bench, White is in by default due to our lack of props as is Shillington.

Why is Waterhouse still in contention? Hoffman was superior and would be better suited in starting off the bench. I don't mind Lewis for Thaiday, sure it's a blow for Sam but Lewis impressed me through out last season and deserves his place.

The backrow is pretty much the same one I picked. This is Gallen's D-Day.

I can't believe some people are saying that Lockeyer had a good game, I thought he was quite poor. Although the forwards pretty much game him nothing, and I don't think he should be dropped. He's definitely running on old legs though, that was glaringly obvious. He's still probably the best 5/8th we have in the country.

Who said he had a good game?

Dropping Lockyer wouldn't benefit anybody because of his stature in the game. For his sake, I'd like to either see him retire from represenative football over there or after the ANZAC test match.
LMFAO!!!! He wasn't at that level when rookie Jarrod Croker humilated him was he? Hodges has already peaked, and his career is on the decline now. Time to put him out to pasture.

What happened the next time they played? I seemed to recall Hodges schooled Croker despite carrying a few injuries.

I still definitely think Shillington shouldn't be there - surely we have better props running around than him.

Team should be:

1. Slater
2. Hayne
3. Hodges
4. Inglis
5. Morris
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Hannant
9. Smith
10. Civoniceva
11. Watmough
12. Hindmarsh OR Waterhouse - both of these blokes are the tackling workhorses, can't have both in the team
13. Gallen OR Stewart - the skillful offloading locks with high workrates in attack and defense, again, can only pick one

14. Farah OR Kidley - utility, Farah > Kidley
15. Lewis OR Hoffman - the linebreaking impact backrower, can only have one
16. Shillington - for lack of better options, a specialist prop unlike Thaiday
17. White

If Myles was selected in the squad, he would probably be there. Might be an absolute tool, but unlike Thaiday he CAN make the transition to prop, and is good at getting through the hard yards. Where are Justin Poore, Mick Weyman or Matthew Scott? Injured? Surely they are a fair bit better than Shillington AND White at any rate.

I would be worrying about White before Shillington. TLL or Dave Taylor would have been much better options off the bench than White, we need a forward that can scare the opposition.

well unfortunately for nate he shat on his chances on getting on this tour.... he's been great for qld the past few years and as you've mentioned can transition between the two positions quite well

poore and weyman must have upset some people, perhpas the qld selectors refused to consider poore...

i believe a big problem with australian teams on these sorts of tournaments is the lack of any lead up games.

Shillington and White off the bench?

I'd say this is the weakest prop rotation we have fielded in years.

sheens and selectors must go..i'd pick dave taylor over that whole bench..not sure how weyman and poore dont make it..matt scott and learoyd lahrs are also better than the crap forwards we have on that bench..theres 3 utilities there..lewis, gidley, farah..im hoping gidley and farah will piss off leaving us a bench of lewis, white, shillington, waterhouse.. i still think thaiday should've been there..sheens is just an idiot for playing a wide running backrower in the front row..dont know how creagh didnt get picked in the squad either, he ripped up all year..our selectors and coach are a joke..there must be a reason why the 1,6,7,9 didnt do nothing in that game..he must've changed tactics completely

Weymans injured and Poore would still be a better option than white but id like to see how shillington goes

imo Gidley and Waterhouse will drop off.
Worst team we've put out in recent memory. That forward pack couldn't bust its way out of a wet paper bag. White and Pillow, fmd.
