Got a 2/3 (exp/judgement) scout and sent him to England, see how well he pays off. Flipped out royal when I saw a player copped a 4 month injury 2 days after the window shut, before I realised it was my back up keeper. Turns out my 3rd choice was better than him anyway.

Free form is good for movement all over the pitch

I use a 4-4-2 with FB's and RM/LM moving up in attack, I use a Target man and Poacher with both my forwards. One set to no forward runs so he can postion himself for crosses into the box and the other making runs for through balls. One defensive mid one attacking mid (work rate).

Custom tactics

50 speed (mixes it up, can hit on the counter and can hold possession whenever I want)

30 passing (short)

50 Run support/risk

70 Shooting (good movement up front)

30 Crosses

30 Width (narrow)

70 Pressure (high)

50 Agression (man 2 man press)

I never use in depth tactics, I usually just tweak the formation to my liking and play a standard offensive possession game in a 4-3-3 system. When I start using lower teams more in depth or play on legendary rather than world class I think I'll be a bit more studious; I favor medium to high working, fit players, and I prefer wingers that track back defensively. I'm open to counters because I use attacking fullbacks but I don't really attack on the counter, I prefer to break down the defence bit by bit. Might sound bad but it works.

Does anyone else use their virtual pro in manager mode? None of my friends even create one lol. It's a bit unfair with mine because he can play any offensive role and retain an 87-89 overall if you change his base position. I'm starting to think that playing without him might make it a lot more challenging - in a quiet season, he scores and assists at least 40 goals in all competitions!

my VP is a beast, I use him online mainly, play as RM and just pump in crosses to the other 10 strikers lol

I made my virtual Pro and was so eager to make him as close as possible to me I forgot to change the birth year. He's sitting at 72 when hes 28 years old and going nowhere fast.

I tried to sell him but havent had any bites yet. He's got a long way to go when I'm using Briand Fletcher and Ebanks-Blake in front of him. Also Keogh is younger and better. FML.

My Midfield is probably the best atm. O'Hara, Denisov, Jarvis and some young kid from a N1 team I bought on the cheap. All hitting 79 - 83 except for the young kid. Got a few 80s in the backs now too and Hennessey is killing it at GK.

That's on my laptop. On my main PC I have made the same virtual Pro but made him born in 92 (or 91) Put him in as stiker for Brisbane and he's not going too bad. I only went with the Player Career though for something different, anyone played this?

If I'm gonna play the game just to be stuck at the Roar for 20 years I'll just go back to manager mode.

its good cause you can set your formation/tactics, plus buy/sell players

Got this yesterday - struggling big time with the tactical defending and I'm only on professional difficulty, in career mode. It feels like I'm only about a 30/70 chance of winning because I just keep leaking goals. The games that I do win are like 4-3, or 3-2 where only my attack is strong enough to get me a win.

The problem is, teams are just marching up the field around the box extremely easily and most of the time I can't do anything about it. So I try and contain them near the goal, steal the ball or whatever but when they keep coming and coming up near the box area, the ai always find a way to score eventually.

lower the difficulty and work your way from there

also check your tactics isn't auto pulling defenders out of position.

set Pressure 10, that will only make defenders get pulled in and around the box

Woo just got Oxford Utd promoted to the premier league all the way from npower2.

Just got given a budget of 11.5 million and wages of 50k......pretty cool considering I only had a 900k and 5k wage budget last season, I was expecting another very low budget but I like the way they've done it in fifa12

Definitely gonna try out semi pro and once i get use to it, I'll go back to professional. Have to say though even though I'm losing, it's really fun trying to hold them out from scoring. Defending has never been fun in a Fifa game, until now.

I just smashed about 30 games in a row with my Macclesfield save, last game of the season finished 4th.

semi went down to the wire cam from behind scored the winner in 120th minute.

final, was down 2-0 at HT, went all out attack got 2 back. extra time 118th winner for promotion!

they hit the post too when I was all out, would of been done and dusted lol

all my seasons have been epic so far loving career mode

Lucas Piazano from Sao Paulo is a must get.

Rated about 70, but his finishing is already fantastic.

After 3 seasons he is ranked at 85.

Neymar is another to buy. As is Lucas from Sao Paulo, he costs about 36 mil, but he becomes a star.

My Liverpool team is down right dominant, but it took a big clean out, but I brought (not bred) big and then scouted for talent.

Sorensen from juve is a must get as well. Cost around 12 million and starts off at 78 but within 2 years he's already up at 84-85. Not to bad for a 23yr old CB.

Usually when they get up to a good enough level and some clubs throw big cash at them I sell and re invest. Ac Milan paid 28 million for agger the other day. Can't pass up those offers.
