Its laughable that anyone is even comparing Tahu and Tuqiri to Falou

Its a disgrace that he has been allowed to play in the NRL while promoting a rival code let alone play in SOO.

Tahu ... lies to the rugby league public about his intentions of turning to rugby, turns his back on league for two-three years (or whatever it was), and only returns to league when he can't crack it in union.

Tahu went to union for the money.
Tahu lied to the rugby league public (Falou hasn't).
Tahu actively promoted another code of football.

Spot the difference.

Spot the difference? He's back playing RL, he isn't PROMOTING Union....ffs it's not hard.
There's a lot of bloodthirsty Queenslanders letting things blind their judgment.

Either way, he's not integral, we could win without him.
Free marketing for the AFL, though.

Tahu: contracted to the NRL for the next 3 years. Not promoting anyother sport but RL

Folau: contracted to the NRL this year while at the same time attending press conferences wearing AFL livery, kicking an AFL footy with AFL bufoons and using his status to promote a rival code in a NRL backyard

Not that hard really

FTR, Tahu did not play origin footy the year he signed with the 'Tahs.

well technically folau has said that he's gone to AFL for the challenge. We all know that's a lie but what else was he going to say? We all know Folaus coming back to league as soon as his contract is up.

Glad he is playing. This is professional sport.

You don't sack people who get a better paying job.

This isnt about what NSW do, this isnt even about State of Origin, its about the game. It is in the games best interest for Folau NOT to be selected, and his selection just proves that Queenslanders need to beat NSW at all costs. Pathetic.

It's in NSW's best interests that Falou doesn't get picked.

Many more fans of AFL will now be tuning into Game 2 SOO ...

Please explain why it's not "in the game's best interest"?

How is Falou playing for Queensland marketing for AFL when sooooo many people from AFL are actually angry about the money being thrown at Falou? Most people who support AFL couldn't care too hoots about NRL ... really. You mention NRL to alot of AFL fans and they just go pfffftttt.

If anything, in this marketing savvy world we live in, people see RIGHT THROUGH pathetic marketing ploys like this, and actually don't care. They don't care. Falou's defection will not make one iota difference, and the return on investment on the AFL will be a pathetic sight to see.

1st you say this

Then you come out with this

Why would they tune in if they have such a dismissive attitude to RL?

Make your mind up champ

Allan Langer was selected for Origin while playing for English club Warrington Wolves.
Darren Smith was selected for Australia in 2003 while playing St Helens, at the age of 35.
Jamie Lyon was selected for Australia in 2006 after playing for English club St Helens.

Andrew Johns turned out for the NSW cricket 20/20 team while a contracted RL player.

That was promoting another sport.

Well the 1st three, while a different comp, are still RL and are not in any direct competition with the NRL for sponsors, fans or juniors. They should not have been selected though if they were contrated at the time with SL clubs, which I believe Lyon was not.

As for Joey playing 20/20. Cricket is a summer sport and again, not in direct competition with RL for fans, sponsorship or juniors

I'd find it a bit of a challenge figuring out how to spend $6 million.
(not a big one but a challenge none the less)

Hardly contradictory ... AFL fans will look at SOO out of curiosity.

But more to the point, do you think rugby league fans will look at Falou playing league and say to themselves, "Gee, I think I'll enrol my child in AFL next year?"

I've still to read anyone succintly and accurately build a case why Falou playing next Wednesday night is any way a bonus for AFL.

Tahu: marketing message ... stick with the sport you know, you're more likely to succeed.

Falou: marketing message ... if you have exceptional sporting ability, try a number of options, and if you can make money doing so, go for it.

AFL: marketing message ... we're so desperate to grow our game, we're stupid enough to fork out mega dollars on a player who has never kicked a ball longer than 30metres in a game, and at the same time, insult our existing elite players.

Just keep selecting your captain on the bench...revolutionary stuff from NSW.
QLD dont need much help beating NSW...they beat themselves up before the game with their useless selections.

We all know that but that has no bearing on the gutless decision from the QRL to pick him. Folau should not have been selected for Qld. This has nothing to do with giving NSW more of a chance of beating you Qldrs. The fact is a winger will not make or break us, we have more to worry about in your side than a bloody winger. If he was not selected Tuquri would come in who is no slouch.

On the other hand AFL followers might watch Origin now because Folau is picked and they want to check him out.

I'm so torn on this issue that I'd be happy with either decision. That said, I hadn't considered the above point. Massive numbers of mexicans will want to watch to check this guy out.

Typical QLD mentality. If Tate wasn't injured they would have said we're dropping Folau for the good of the game. Now that hes injured, they're scared of losing with Tiquri or yow yeh so they flip

Tuqiri or Jharal would nail it. No need for us to worry about a quality replacement.

FFS Was Tahu out promoting AFL last week??,Because Izzy was
And i lost a lot of respect for Locky over this he blew it or maybe mal.
Locky called, he refuses to play again until given the opportunity to re-earn your respect :sarcasm:

To be fair to Joey, he needed the money to support his habit.
