The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Golf club is more than just poker machines

You never answered how Sharks will convert those other fanbases across?

Or inner City snobs that hate RL?
I tell you something, from the mid 90's up until about 5 years ago there were a shyte load of Sharks supporters in the inner west. We'd all moved in for the hedonistic lifestyle of Rock'n'Roll. We lived it.
At our local, The Golden Barley, The Sharks supporters were counted as the extra main team along with Souths.
We've now all moved up or down the coast, back to the burbs etc.
Every 6 months we still cause mayhem for memories sake, but the five day turnaround recovery takes its toll...
In my case, I live within 5 mins of swimming in the sea, and it's only a $25 Uber into there, I choose the sea and swim..
We still have the great Ken Gormley from The Cruel Sea flying the flag with his Petty Cash Cafe in Enmore.
Dave Faulkner from The Gurus is at Bondi.
The rest of us are FIFO these daze.

The Sharks should raze Toyota Stadium and start again. Build a cheap flat pack 22-25k seat stadium and watch them grow.

But leaving that dump the way it is now is just an embarrassment to the NRL. It's almost as bad as Leichhardt
Build it near a train station in the area (Caringbah Miranda)

Or sell it for more units & try build a new stadium elsewhere in the Shire.
Sharks couldn't afford to build a new stadium.
But... they did offer the NRL to buy into Shark Park as it is and become partners.
I wonder if the NRL would go into partnership to a new stadium..and maybe some others in there as well.
And then the best solution, Loftus, would be in play.

The Golden Barley is a great pub.

From $10 Jugs on Saturdays a decade ago to a group of drunk suburban mums on a night out flashing us at the pool table.

The owners are top people.
You can feel the difference between an independent pub and a conglomerate.

Looks like the regular 2 games on Sunshine coast has been dropped from 'THE' Dolphins plans, no announcement yet where the 2 other games will be played.
7 at Suncorp, 3 at Dolphin Stadium so far.

The Dolphins need to be careful here and not do a Wests Tigers with 10 home grounds. Just split the games between Suncorp and Dolphin stadium. KISS and don't over do it.

I suspect part of the "sell" to the NRL was they'd cover an untapped regional area as well. With the Falcons deciding to stick with the Storm though not sure where that leaves them.

If a team has more than 2 home grounds, then it will be harder for them to be successful. They are basically diluting home ground advantage.

100% agree. 2 is fine (particularly if it is to go to a bigger ground for bigger selling games) but having 3 or more is self defeating

The problem though with that is you are in effect cutting the revenue the game brings in if you have the NRL pay for it, as they would be paying for it out of their current revenue sources.

Also away game memberships? Please enlighten me as to which NRL clubs currently offer them?
We just have to weight up what is in the best interest of the code long term. A bit less money coming in the players getting a little bit less money but the crowds potentially growing. Previous generations of players played for not much money. They can say they were proper custodians of the game. This generation of player makes a lot of money and don’t give a shit about the game.
