Daley interviewed on Sky News this morning.

No 45,000 stadium.
Will build a stadium similar to Parramatta in terms of design and capacity.
SCG Trust will pay via a loan arranged by a Daley Gvt under favourable terms.
No mention of ANZ.

The Trust should turn around and say him ‘righto f**kwit, if you want to go down this path, the SFS was built from $60m of donated money from the public and members to the Trust. This facility the state gov has used for 30 years. Consider now for this entire period we ‘loaned’ this facility to the state gov so at a conservative interest rate of 10% per year. we’re now billing you $180mil for the use of our stadium over this 30 year period.’

Could just ditch the SFS and build somewhere else.

That Central station thing would be brilliant, but im sure there are other options too. Wentworth Park or Redfern come to mind (dont know the ownership situation)

I dunno...

Hearing the interview, it sounds like he is leaving ANZ open for discussion and is just against the Trust getting a Taj Mahal just because they have political pull in the Libs.
lol

Daley is an idiot who will lose the GF if elected

Yes. That’s exactly the outcome we need. Another stadium built for the needs of regular club games, not once or twice a year events.

I think having all the major cities in Oz and Kiwiland competing to host a Grand Final that moves venue every year will be better for the game long term anyway. No loss in my book.

That won't fly. The SCG Trust is set up under legislation of the NSW Parliament. Ultimately the trustees are appointed by the Government of the day, so they know if they stuff around a Government, it just takes one stroke of the Governor's pen to change the trustees. The Trust is not a private entity.

Its the same as the conversation about AAMI Park...

Why have 40k when it will only fill up twice a year and will struggle to even half fill up for 90% of the games? We need a small stadium, focused on atmosphere. And if games DO start to pack out, we either expand it or just let the scarcity of tickets drive earlier commitments.
