Nathan Cleary should have made the squad, at the expense of Ben Hunt.

Apparently he wasn’t picked due to injury. He is carrying an ankle injury that requires surgery, which he is having and won’t be back to training until January.

Problem is we don't seem to be able to compete with clubs like the Roosters unless we get them young and breed them to be loyal. This quote from Iron Fist TV show is us:

"You hire people when they're young, single, looking for something to commit to, to build their lives around. Pay them twice what they're worth. It builds loyalty."

He doesn't mention that injury at all in any interview after re-signing with us last week. In fact,he said he was going on holiday firstly with his Mum & Dad,then catching up with mates in SW Asia. Is this something new he picked up because the Panthers site has FA on it.?

We've essentially gone all in on our juniors/potential. Jury is still out, but I guess we'll see over the next couple of years if it's worked.
