Gotta love Laurie Daley on the BSB this morning. Making sure to mention plenty of people dont like the prick Smith because of his actions while Mackinnon was down. He made sure he mentioned that a few times, legend.
Don't forget all the little ref whispering too, there's plenty of reasons to hate this human excrement called cameron smith, none of them to do with his talent, or being a Queenslander, that stuff isn't in question, he is a narcissistic wanker that will argue and coddle his way out of anything to gain favour over the refs, i just want see Jeremy Latimore crush Cams nuts again

And his general persona. Daley mentioned the cap cheating also it was so good. Clarkey is busy talking up Smith to no end and Daley comes in with some truth.

Same Clarkey I did a video on and got blocked by or an actual radio personality?

Couldn't have said it better my self there snickers007, imagine if fans of the game actually remembered all the reprehensible things done throughout his career instead of the no. of first grade games = what a legend, truely a champion, a grade A+ Immortal, quick just give it to him now, and the 2 salary cap stripped trophies aswell.... oh sorry i forgot greenburg ain't the NRL CEO no more.. thats not happening

You've quoted the wrong post (from an entirely different thread), but I know what you're talking about.

Just sounds like salt to me. You would have punched your own mother to have had Smith at the Panthers.

You need to look up the definition of narcissistic, because he doesn't really fit the description. Rather than gazing at his own reflection and seeking admiration, he seems more likely to be avoiding the media and the spotlight. That is probably why so little is known about him as a person and in the absence of knowledge, people make stuff up and think he is a bastard.

It is an interesting insight into human nature to read the comments attacking Smith's character. Such as:
  • An assumption that he was fully aware that McKinnon was paralysed and cares so little for fellow human beings, he ignored it and tried to use it to his advantage. A breath taking callousness you would expect from a complete and utter arsehole. Yet somehow, he has been a successful leader for many years at the Storm, Qld and Australia. Leadership requires followers and generally speaking, people don't like to follow callous arseholes. Hence it is surprising, even though he cares little for fellow human beings, we don't hear stories of how his teammates hate him.
  • An assumption that he was complicit in the salary cap beaches at the Storm. Despite the complete lack of evidence to show this. Even after an extensive investigation by the NRL and Deloittes and no doubt, investigations by various members of the media looking for scandal. He signed two contracts, allegedly. Nobody seems to be able to find them though.
  • A belief that because he, pause for dramatic effect, TALKS TO THE REF, he is "human excrement" and "a blatant cheat". One can only assume that even though Smith's alleged cheating and manipulation is discussed and highlighted by the media frequently, the referee's ignore this because they are in thrall of him.
The court of human opinion is a tough arena. People will level charges at you, put you on trial without producing any evidence and then find you guilty. All that is left to do now is to string him up by the neck and make him pay for his crimes. No wonder he tries to avoid the spotlight.

Everyone knew at that point that Mckinnon was hurt, I could hear him screaming about not feeling his legs through the TV. When Smith is talking to the ref the others players are standing around looking sick. Mckinnon himself blew up when later showed the video. It was the most disgusting thing i've seen on an NRL field. Even the words Smith used with the ref showed that he knew McKinnon was hurt badly.

That broken neck happened because of Bellamys constant pushing the rules to slow down the play the balls. They were catching guys, picking them up horizontally and then spinning them around so they had to straighten up before playing the ball often that season before the injury and it was something they added that year and it only took a few weeks until someone was seriously hurt by it.

I am so happy we got V'landys taking the game back from coaches and their bullshit tactics.

Melbourne Storm great Cameron Smith announced his retirement this week after 433 NRL games and a trophy case full of awards, honours and memories.

The 37-year-old hangs up the boots as one of the competition’s greatest ever players while also leaving the league as one of the most loathed by rivals.

A history of headlines have previously placed the Queensland great in hot water, and while he will be remembered as a legend of the game, there are many who believe it will be his demeanour that remains on the surface.

Fox Sports journalist James Hooper labelled the former Storm hooker as “the greatest serial winner” the NRL has ever produced in a scathing article on Wednesday.

The piece, titled “Smith deserves to be remembered as a champion – but not as one of the great blokes”, received further polarising opinions from fans, while Melbourne teammate Christian Welch slammed the Fox reporter.

“Out of all the deserving journo’s for limited sports jobs in Aus we’ve got this bloke leeching away.” Welch wrote. “You should be embarrassed.”

Hooper’s comments went as far to say Smith “bordered on sociopathic” during showcase moments of his career, namely his notorious suspension on Sam Thaiday that ruled the Melbourne captain out of the 2008 Grand Final.

The piece also listed past incidents involving Raiders pair Jarrod Croker and Bailey Simonsson as well as his history of indiscretions with league referees.

“There is no doubt Smith’s penchant for lecturing referees to the point of standing over match officials polarised fans,” Hooper wrote.

“Was he a protected species because of his lofty standing in the game? One hundred per cent.

“It’s a shame he won’t also be championed as one of the all-round great blokes.”

As well as questioning Smith’s role in the Storm’s salary cap saga and labelling his recently published memoirs as “drivel”, it’s fair to say Hooper didn’t hold back.

There will be a minority that agree with his comments, but having published his distaste for Smith in the same day of his retirement also looks to have missed the mark.

“His allies and acolytes claim Smith is a misunderstood, laid-back champion Queenslander who longs for the quiet life away from the cameras with his family,” Hooper continued.

“His enemies counter he is a cold, calculated, closed book who can be arrogant and aloof.

“Wherever you stand, one thing for certain; Smith is probably the greatest serial winner rugby league has ever produced.”

Thats extremely untrue, i said i'd rather invest in Russel Packer, as we need a no nonsense run fwd prop, to use any violence or any wish to have that or sell any part of my soul for that complete waste of human is untrue, i believe in 2nd chances, people being remorseful, taking responsibility for their actions, not defending 3 Melbourne fwds, who tipped poor alex on his head, by the grubby wrestling tactics, and 3rd man in mentality, and then say after the fact, "well if he doesn't duck his head, it doesn't happen" pleading against a penalty, they broke his spine!, and then he said its his own fault!
Pomoz please look past the trophy cabinet and accolades.
The guy is a massive f**kwit, i don't care how many games he has played, or who he plays for, that's a winner at costs mentality, who acts as he is above all else even a guy who literally crying out, "i cannot feel my legs"... plus smiths a salary cap lying cheat, one that won't own up to the 2 contract saga either...
i thank christ we never has any inkling to sign that worm

The video Mckinnon reacted to was an edited 60 minutes clip which 9 had to apologise to Smith for.

And?
....

....Did Cameron say sorry for saying its Alex's fault for being droped on his head? What part of the video doesn't show where Cameron is a complete and utter f**kwit, i don't care who edited what...
The tackle happens, its an accident, a terribly coached accident, but accident nonetheless, then while alex is stretchered off smith is basically pleading that its Alex's fault for ducking in a 3 man tackle, one designed by the storm wrestling tactics to upend players to slow the ruck, the audacity to challenge a broken neck is dumbfounding
