Geeze, leaving out Preston Campbell, and Scott Sattler. Barry Walker is another, and Paul Clarke was a tower of strength for us in '91. Gower in a position he never played. Having to choose between Royce and Priddis. It's too hard to pick these sides, I will pass.

Very underrated Barry Walker.

Are there any updates on Blake’s injury? Last I read he was going to see a surgeon to determine whether or not his injury would benefit from surgery?

Not sure if this has been done before, but if you could pick a Panthers team, using the players that were involved in both the '91 and '03 GF-winning sides, who would you have?

Here's my team:

1. Wesser
2. Lewis
3. Girdler
4. Fittler
5. Rooney
6. Gower
7. Alexander (c)
8. Lang
9. Simmons (based on GF performances alone, it was hard to choose between he and Priddis)
10. Clarke
11. Geyer
12. Puletua
13. Van Der Voort

Reserves:

14. Priddis
15. Clinton
16. Cartwright
17. Waterhouse

Graham Mackay was a better winger than both Lewis & Rooney.

These guys probably wouldn't feature in my 'best' team - but regardless, they are my faves

hahaha. Stop it you're killing me.:)

I’m deadly serious.

Mackay was a stud.

Played in the legendary 1992 NSW origin team, backed it up with games in 93 & 94. Scored a try in more than 50% of his games for Penrith.

Anyone seriously think Luke Lewis or Rooney gets a game in those 92-94 origin teams?

NSW had wingers like ET, Rod Wishart, Ricky Walford, Chris Johns, Michael O’Connor & Brett Mullins during that period.

Mackay played with those guys.

That’s a serious blow to our prospects. He is our best back (outside of the halves) and a pretty vital part of our attack.

What is DWZ’s defence like in the centres? I can’t remember when it was that he last played there?

I’m honestly not sure about DWZ defence in the centres, just have a hunch he might go alright there. Can’t be worse than Peachey though?

I definitely don’t want to see Yeo there for all 10 weeks, that’s for sure.

Played there against Souths at home last year. I rate him as a centre goes alright. Peachey and May would be the other options now we know it's long term atleast can plan

Deadset this year is going to be like 2015. Thankfully we've got a couple extra wins on the board already. But f**k me this injury list is getting out of hand.

When we face some decent teams our depleted roster is going to be up against it. Only upside is these injuries aside from Ssm arent season ending. But 10 week injuries are a ridiculous disruption.

Whomever we decide is the 10 week solution for Blake - I think we should select someone who is defensively solid even at the expense of attack.

Centre is one of the most difficult positions defensively in the game these days.

We can’t risk someone who has attacking flair but who will cost us 2 tries a game when defending our own line.
