Another post from my “ Get to Know your Panther Player Catchment” series.

Today we visit Old Mt Druitt which boasts a good traditional Australian Chinese Take away.

And I saw a guy with his full indigenous uniform on which was cool.

Old Mt Druitt is very cheap as well with retailers. So a good place to shop. It’s not full of the wealthy and you can pretty much wear what you want.

On that attire front In another part of the catchment last night/ from the car, I saw a happy lady walking with hubby and she only had a black bra on and running pant things. I thought that was a bit risqué for the evening walk but so be it.

A bit of the atmosphere, nobody having too many pearl grabbing self esteem issues

We like that.

Im glad you did because you looked like you were about the choke on that old guy.

Old Mt Druitt is the Rose Bay of the western suburbs.

I’m claiming it for the Wests Tigers to wipe the smug off of of your face mubby mobby

When you say responsible, you make it sound as though it would have happened without Gus. The way I understand it and have heard Gus talk about it, Gus's vision for the club was as a development club. He wanted to create what the Broncos had when it was in its prime, quoting the fact they produced or debuted something like 80% of their own players. He then let Jones and Cameron design and build what was needed and he supported them. That's great leadership. For those who say it wasn't Gus who made it happen, I'll ask this question. "Why didn't Jones or Cameron build it at the Panthers or Eels before?". Our move to a "development club" didn't happen in a vacuum.

I am simply saying Gus was the catalyst that started our revolution. The fact he hired good people to create a plan, doesn't diminish that. The Roosters have been good at developing players in the last 20 years. Gus started that programme too.

Responsible. Hmm. Well like building a home. You need an architect and a builder.
Cameron was responsible for the pathways plan, along with Jim Jones. Responsible of making it happen, that was Gould.

Cameron, who was a development coach at Parramatta many years ago, had the most significant input. I think he had a western corridor plan at Parramatta that never went anywhere.

There were a few versions of the plan for juniors at Penrith for a number of years. Mostly small scale. None really went anyway. End of the day money. None had Cameron's vision either.

Would it happened without Gould? Probably not. You need two to tango. He makes things happen while others just ponder. Gould is like my Sister. Both could sell ice to Eskimos. They also recognise good people and guide them on their way to success. Both have had their Corey Payne moments. That shouldn't define them.
Like credits for writer on a movie. Many could claim some involvement in the pathways. Even Hook. More on him in a sec.
Gould knew the value of the club juniors for success. Development was neglected or some would say abandoned under the Elliott years. Yes your right Pomoz. Gould wanted to create what the Broncos had when it was in its prime. A production line of talent.
Gould wanted it done and told Cameron 'tell me what your plan is and I will do the rest'. He had his input, along with a few others, but it was Cameron's and Jones who came up with the master plan.
Hook came up with a few suggestions to improve things later on, but he didn't build or rebuild the pathways as he boosted after being sacked.
Like anything. Things are always being regularly looked at to improve upon. Other clubs can and should copy it. But they need to make sure it works in their areas.
And what works today needs to work for tomorrow.
I agree with you Pomoz. Gus was the catalyst that started our revolution.
Long may it reign.

I guess it demonstrated Gould’s leadership in empowering others in Cameron and Jones to execute the collective plan and goals Of the organisation.

Thanks for sharing your insights Blade. The Eels must be kicking themselves that they ignored Cameron's ideas. Gus is like Vegemite, love him or hate him. I am somewhere in between, but I admire his strategic vision when he talks about League. Of course, he has made a few dreadful decisions like hiring Corey Payne as CEO. But, as my old CEO used to say "if you're not making mistakes as a leader then you're not trying hard enough".

Will the $500,000 transfer fee for the Broncos kid be recognised under this years salary cap. How does that work.

Also the kid players 5/8th, so does Burton.......?

It’s very unprofessional of Gus to use his prior engagement with the Panthers against you.

Trade and commercial secrets breached and exploited for his own benefit and that of a rival organisation.

He’s gone after players, staff and done other mischiefs.

This would never be tolerated in a proper commercial environment.

You should be suing him, a cease and desist letter at the least.

How much damage are you going to sustain before you act?

The club owes it to fans, members, sponsors and associates to put Gus in his place.

Man up and go hard at him. You don’t owe him anything. Without your own folk in support he’d be nowhere or back at roosters.

He’s stuck the knife into you before and set you back years.

You’re getting soft, lazy and too comfortable with your high achievements. These good times, they are under threat from many quarters. You can’t drop the ball now. Smug is a 24/7 effort.

No mercy for enemies of the Penrith Panthers.

Get off your knees and punch the figurative shiz out of him and the rats in your ranks.

And if I’m Ivan and co, the problem with the dogs unusual interest is that it tends to take decisions out of the clubs hands and you have to respond instead of being an instigator.

Critter was playing optimum last season, well enough to be considered for an extension and that means examining the roster, assessing the next batch of kids and weighing up different scenarios. A lot of work.

And then there’s a dodgy announcement that he wants to leave.

And I didn’t think it was very gracious of him to just say he wanted to leave without any destination as the implication is that he’s not happy or there’s something amiss about the club.

And really what he was saying he wanted to be anywhere except the Panthers, and that’s not very praiseworthy.

And the given that you are the best club in the comp right now, it aggravates the sentiment.

The truth is revealed publically a few days later, but this pork chop ride he took everyone on, was strange and unhelpful.

He might think that his mates in the side that he trusted …were not telling anyone…but I think he seriously underestimated club loyalty.

Hes forgotten where he comes from.

Api went to the tigers for cash and contract length. Unfortunately, he also wanted to work with Madge again. And at least that was an brutally honest account. Paps was the same.

Best we can do unless the juniors perk up.

Look at how happy, proud and pleased Gus is to lure one of your best in secret when the photo was taken.

Then the arrogant grub got angry the photo was leaked.

He’s an asshole.

I’m all good.

Standing up for the panthers is not a crime, especially now I am a local.

There be some weak minded people willing to accept a flogging from Gus.

Im not one of them sister.
It is what it is. No one here is getting there knickers in a knot over it.

It’s just the business of the NRL and Salary cap. Gus is just doing his job for his current club, no big deal really.

He is still going to fit Mitchell Moses, Spencer Lenui and perhaps he can add David Fifita as well.

Its all good, your stressing over it, most of us aren’t.
