My feelings on Gus has nothing to do with my comments here.

You need to be able to build a team up to push for premierships, Constant changing of the roster doesn't let that happen
He has reinvented their roster.

He gets his top priority in Moses they are serious contenders it’s that simple.

I can’t see How he gets Moses but if he pulls it off fair play to him.

There coach is also part of the Penrith system

How will CC go. There were lots lauding up how good Trent Barrett would be.

That ended quite badly (if I recall)

Even the best coach in the world, can't replace talent and skill on the footy field.

Dogs don't have a quality halfback. Burton struggles having to be the orgainser.

Lets say Averillo has an outstanding year at Fullback, How do they keep him? given the money they have assigned elsewhere?

That is the issue with Top heavy rosters

You’re wasting your breath mate. There are those who simply cannot or will not give any credit to Gus for what he did at our club.

I don't see anyone on this platform not giving Gus credit for what he did.

Gus though had and still has his faults. In the same way Ivan has his faults also.

Ivan and Matt Cameron have assembled the current roster. Ivan & Matt got rid of Blake, RCG, DWZ and others. Ivan's speciality has been buying honest plodders who he get's the best out of.

Gus told Trent not to take the Dogs job.

CC has a squad far in excess of what Trent had.

CC is one key player short of having a top four side and who knows may yet get who has been the Dogs number 1 target all along.

Gus left in April 2019. The side has developed since then not sure you can say he had much to do with how well this current squad has developed. Given that not every gun junior makes it

The current coaching staff are behind where we are, Front office has done their job by leaving them to do their thing

Do you think Gus cares. No issue for him, he will just work around it.

This Gus thing gets up my nose. He has not been here for 5 preseasons, he stuffed our salary cap, cost the club Millions $ for sacked coaches, Fish and Leota would be 2 players signed under his time, the rest are from our talent scouts.
Its time we recognised the current Management and the coaching skills of Ivan and his team.

A few guys hadn't even debuted while Gus was here.

The jury is still out whether CC will be the next super coach or an over hyped one like O'Brien.
Big difference being a nice assistant the players can come running to when the head coach tells them off. Now CC has to wield the big stick.

Not sure he will even get left alone to coach, So we won't know either way

The Bulldogs still have sufficient funds to be in the market for Mitchell Moses and Spencer Lenui!!!!! They’ve done remarkably well.
Being in the market for them and actually signing them are two different things. Might be if they sign one of them the interest I. The other falls away.

The dogs still lack a good halfback. They will be (I believe) 10-14 this year.

They may have some new toys, but these new toys will struggle outside Penrith system, just like Burton did.
I agree @Iamback ; I think they are a lower mid table team unless Burton makes a huge step up and takes over the management of the team. Even then it might not be enough due to a probable lack of go forward; losing Vaughn who was their best go forward last year (says it all really) is going to make them very dependent on keeping Thomson, Big Jack and RFM on the field and out of Phillips St/the casualty ward.

I think the forward pack is lacking grunt; has enough x-factor but limited platform.

I have them finishing around 10th. Big Jack has gone he was one let go to clear some room.

Mahoney isn't an 80 min player either will hurt but they will miss Josh Jackson most, Sides need plodders to do the ugly work
