It was a very weird game, the dogs forwards really got over them but they couldn’t get across the line. The roosters defence was very solid, they will be happy but they just don’t look like a top 4 team anymore.
Neither look like a major threat to us long term but both could be a hassle if their D stands up.

I didn't think the game was trash. It was the least penalty affected game of the year (at least it felt that way), so a lot of flowing football was played.

With the weight of possession that the Bulldogs had, against many defences they would have scored simply out of the fatigue of the defence, or a one on one miss. They were also able to generate a few repeat sets to keep building pressure.

The fact that they lost also means they will be more likely to turn up against us next week.

They are definitely a side that is improving. I expect next weeks game to be close.
Flowing football? After the 5th minute of the game no points were scored. There were 28 errors made through the match and the video referee had some of the easiest no try decisions you'll ever see and had like 50 looks at them despite the first viewing showing beyond a doubt its no try.

It was the most boring and predictable attack you'll see all year. They coaches couldn't believe the shit their teams were dishing up. Robinson looked like he was ready to have a stroke after every error Roosters made and Pay was getting frustrated at the shit Bulldogs were doing.neither coach looked happy during the game.

Bulldogs had 55% possession and 10 minutes of the game were against a 12 men Roosters side. Most of their time in possession was in great field position. Yet they couldn't score a single try. Roosters defence deserves praise for that. But the Bulldogs lack of creativity was the biggest contributing factor to keepung them to nil.

Likewise Bulldogs never really faced much pressure from Roosters due to making 17 errors.

The constant one out stuff trying to bash the Roosters didn't work. The halves rarely touched the ball. That certainly won't work against us.

:joy::joy:

I actually thought it was one of his better games. Made a few good runs.

However, on this alone, he'll probably get picked for NSW over RCG.....:rage::rage::rage:
He had a good game. But he has about the slowest play the ball in the competition. He made huge metres yet couldn't get his team momentum.

Although with the metres and field position Woods, Klemmer and RFM got them the spine failed these guys. The rest of their pack are pretty average aswell.

Flowing football and points being scored are not the same thing.
The game really flows with 28 errors, 11 penalties and 2 video referee decisions that must have taken more than 5 minutes combined for what was a blatantly obvious no try.

I agree it wasn't flowing, my point was that lack of points is not necessarily evidence of that.

Did you see Matty Johns commenting on that on Late Night league? For those who didn't see it he said that Woods is always looking for an offload and he struggles with the defenders every play trying to get his arm free, resulting in a slow play the ball. Basically, he said Woods needs to stop trying to offload every play and sometimes just go hard and play the ball fast.

I think he is spot on. His offloads are great, but sometimes you want the defence back pedalling. That was part of the problem last night. The Dogs made metres, but slow metres. Roosters always had time to reset their defence.

Just an aside, the Morris boys are still playing great football. Ferguson was immense too. On form he should be picked for the Blues. He is the best winger in the competition at the moment and doing a good impression of Josh Mansour in making metres for the forwards.

Undoubtedly.

Old mate Dugan is hopefully no chance for NSW. But Fergo is easily the best winger in the comp right now. Dare I say the world?
