Impression I get now is that they have locked in more long term and are looking for the now.

White has been very poor this year and is struggling big time in defence especially goal line where his lateral movement has been found out on a number of occasions.

There was one Titans who was off contract that would have been sensational but our ingeneous recruitment staff obviously thinks better. Carter has gone to Souths and will be a star this year when he gets a few games under his belt.

There is a reason clubs very rarely front load contracts.

It is incredibly dangerous. No one likes taking a pay cut, and like all humans players don't look at what they got last year, they look at what they are getting right now. Opening yourself up to disgruntled players, particularly if the cap goes up and everyone around them is suddenly out earning them.

Having said that, we have to do something with it.

Clydesdale has not lived up to the hype and I don't think he will. But I think there's a bit more skill and crispness to his passing from dummy half.

So I'm not disappointed in the choice at all.
