From all reports is very solid keeper
Why is he a myth? But Tim Paine? Myth
If that is the case then maybe the consensus is that Haddin is a better motivator in the field and despite a few goofs is considered a better quality batsman than Paine? Paine is only a couple of years younger than Clarke and even if he does succeed Haddin, he wouldn't be the ideal leader in his early to mid 30s.Why is he a myth?
The Tasmanian players say he is the best player in their team, and the general feel around cricketing circles is that he is a genuine leader who could captain his country.
You can't judge a wicketkeeper by runs and wickets alone, their character is a very, very important part of their makeup, and that of the team. If the people who know Paine well think that he will bring the right elements to the team, then maybe us mug punters should recognise that.
Remember, Ian Healy's record was non-existant when he was picked, but he was picked on character because the selectors knew that a wicketkeeper must be the heartbeat of the team.

Maybe. Maybe he is still in the team because of his experience. If that is the case then maybe the consensus is that Haddin is a better motivator in the field
Way to answer sarcastically to just the first sentence you dick.sma
Well I for one am stunned that his Tassie teammates would back him ...
