Can't help but feel the Melbourne focus wasn't there last night, that partly can be down to a coach but on the other hand only so much a coach can do.
As for what Hagan can do to turn the results around at Parramatta? It will be interesting to see what the responses are to the questions put to him by Fitz.

i rekonthey will monitor the season ticket sales before they make a decision
i know a lot of people are pi&%ed off because of recruitment and hagen, for example i know a couple that have had season tickets for the last 32 years and the have told fitzy personally he can stick his tickets where the sun dont shine and they will not be back all the while hagan and johns are involved with the coaching,

Indeed, and I think you would be a fool to think that Parramatta didn't start negotiations with Daniel Anderson some time during this winter.

Come again. MITS a PM will do if it's not for the boards. :D

Thanks in advance.

(PS I'll see you at the AGM)

Come on MITS, thats a bit harsh  Hes entitled to his opinion!

MITS take it easy....

Firstly I have no problems with him having an opinion, but when the opinion states that our club is happy at being mediocre and then putting that against men I know whose desire for a premiership burns more deeply than any fan I have ever meet, then I am sorry but you can expect your opinion to be taken to task.

The other question would be how would the opinion have been formed. I doubt that cirque would know any of our "Management" if they walked up and introduced themselves.

I think we missed a fit Ben Smith more than what people imagine, he and Grothe owned that right side and not much was leaked out of there.

Ben is solid in defence most of the time, but I think that you are over inflating his ability some what. There were times last year that he totally over read plays and got caught out defensively and ppl here where bagging him out, deservedly so.

If he comes back next year it is still to be seen if he even stays in the centres seeing that Hages has stated that he will be looking at playing him in the forwards.

sorry, but i think bellamy is a fantastic coach .... he has built a team of no names into a powerhouse - he never recruited "name players" he recruited players he thought had potential and gave them the mental toughness and chance to shine - and they have

yes the wrestling sh*ts me to tears, but melbourne are far more than that - they have had some of the worlds best league talent for the last few years, more than just wrestling talent .... they used wrestling to get a bigger advantage over teams - they can still win without it

to say they are nothing because they got hammered by manly last night is sooooooo short sighted - imagine the score manly might have put on other teams (like us ) ... melbourne have had a tough finals series, physically and mentally, and had little left in the tank - 2 of the toughest finals games against the warriors and brissy and losing one of their best players/playmakers/best defenders took its toll - they were spent and manly were on fire

(having said that - i don't like bellamy's win at all costs approach plus i think bellamy is the type of coach who burns players out cos of the intensity - i reckon he has a 5-7yr period of effectiveness with a group of players .... which any club would be happy to have)

What have I told you about talking sense Strider *tsk tsk tsk*
Stop it

No doubt there is talent in Bellamy's nursery. If he built it through his recruitment and scouting efforts then good on him.

But the simple fact there is such talent there (Folau, Inglis, Slater, Cronk etc) and yet he got them stuck playing a robotic method that fell apart the minute it was placed under some officating scrutiny with no plan b to me means the guy is really not too good on the coaching pecking order? I really like what Hasler's done at Manly, and the way he can rev up the half-time talks in the pressure games without any of the same whinging crap that Bellamy comes out with when the chips are down.

Sure, our current coach hasn't shown he has much in the plan b department either, yet they've both managed to win a premiership under certain circumstances. Origin coaching performances... I still don't see much special there from Bellamy I'm afraid. To me the style of play I've seen flourish under Daniel Anderson coached teams beats them both easily...

Fair point.

But if you're referring to me, personally, I've felt Bellamy is over-rated for a while now. But that's me.

Melbourne were Building to this point in time over a long period of time ..

2008 minor premiers - lost in GF
2007 minor premiers - won GF
2006 minor premiers - lost GF got beat by a team that had allot more experience in the big games

Bellamy as a 26 round club coach has done the job and if you were a storm fan you would be loving the last 3 years ..

manly building

2008 premiers
2007 GF lost
2006 doing better than 2005
2005 getting in the finals first time for a long time

we had similar years from 97 till 2001 that was our window to win a premiership

then in 2005 we had a team that could of won then the wheels fell of our club, and now we have hagan YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!! the axle broke.

A 1 off win like what Hagan has done just goes to show how lucky he has been ...

Bellamy 3 years in a row minor premiers, 3 GF in a row 1 win and he lost to the better team on the 3rd one.

Hasler, said in 2005 they would make semis, they did, he said in 5 years win a premiership they did, he talked the talk but he walked the walk ...

we got a mess of a coach and a mess of a CEO so we have a mess of a team .. only thing that has made us look any good is we had Hindmarsh carry 16 guys ....
