Homeland

Alright, Homeland is back. Even that Dana shit becomes tolerable when the boyfriend is a creepy suicide cheerleader. Unfortunately the other half of the show looks like it's going to be about Brodie beating drug addiction and getting the chick out, really hope it doesn't go that way.

that was a much better episode.

With Carrie, Saul and Quinn as the main players at this stage, will be interesting to see how, and when the wildcard that is brody appears. Dana's realization means hopefully shes turned a corner so we can stop watching her make the same bratty mistakes.

as Saul said, 'we are back in business'.

Carrie being preggers and Saul's wife's boyfriend being a spy are bad, everything else is great, especially good that Brodie is just back and we didn't have to watch his descent into drugness.

I loved this show when it started

now it is rubbish........I am still watching because I am that person who kept watching lost and prison break long after I had no idea what was going on anymore.

Tonight's episode was pretty good. and Damien Lewis is a damn fine actor. despite a slow start which was inevitable after the ending of season 2 its shaping up to be a big finish.

Season is going great now.

i know it was a slow start and they have headed in a new direction, and there was some really boring bits in there, but some of the criticism is just uncalled for. its still quality TV.

every season had had a different theme, this one is a very dark theme of consequences of being a CIA agent, being in power etc. i think its building for a much improved season 4.

The last few episodes have been top viewing, going to build to a big season finale.

the problem this show has now created is that it doesn't have an ending to go towards.

therefore, its going to go the way of shows like Alias, where the story stops being intriguing or meaning anything after about 2-3 seasons.

That's every show not based on history or existing literature. Breaking Bad, Sopranoes, the Wire etc all had no ending in sight until they decided to pull the plug.

The way they're given focus are seasons with definite story arcs that get resolved at a season's end. This Homeland season floated at the start without really letting viewers in on why we're suppose to be watching or caring what was happening, but they've brought it back and it's now focussed again with an ending in sight.

Well I guess Brodie's role has to come to some sort of conclusion. He's been a pawn of either the Taliban or CIA for the whole series. Will he die, go to prison, get vilified from the bombing?

Carrie getting pregnant bothers me a little. Seems a little soap-operish.

Carrie getting pregnant is a way of seemingly cutting Brodie's family out of the story for the time being.

They'll go back to it when they have no new ideas for missions etc for Brody, and then we'll be watching Days of our Homeland.

How many times does Carrie tear up per episode? More or less than Deb from Dexter. It infuriates me.
