So I piped up and asked what he thought of Menzies hit on Galloway? He said 'It wasn't Menzies it was Hopoate!" So I replied. " I thought you just said you weren't fielding questions about Hopoate!!!!"

It all began when Manly wing John Hopoate launched himself into Sharks forward Keith Galloway.

Leading with his left elbow, Hopoate sent Galloway spinning to the turf unconscious.

Galloway hit the ground hard as Hopoate followed right through his man.

Galloway was out cold by the time his head hit the turf at Brookvale Oval.

The Sharks forward had just enough energy to raise his arms in a distress call to the bench as Hopoate landed some distance away.

Nigel Vagana takes exception to Hoppa's brain explosion, shoving the big wing as he looks back at the mess he left behind.

"You're off." Hopoate makes his way to the sheds after referee Paul Simpkins shows him the red card.

Galloway lies dazed and bloodied on the deck as Hoppa makes his way off the field.

A neck brace is fitted as Galloway wonders what day it is. He was in hospital having stitches inside his ear last night.

Hopoate, meanwhile, was left to contemplate a possible end to his career in the dressing rooms. The gravity of his action appeared to hit him not long after the incident.:-({|= :-({|=
