Im not sure I've ever seen Peach run straight.

Come on Umina that is quite an exaggeration. PEachey is generally a very direct ball runner. Not a gun barrel straight Kamikaze as he has very good footwork and great balance, but for an outside back/agile forward he is direct.

Why do I keep seeing panthers fans talking down his form in reserve grade and for Samoa? He has not been average anyone who’s paid attention to Luai knew he had it in him to make an impact at the nrl, if you didn’t know you haven’t been paying attention.

Edit: I didn’t expect him to look like a young benji in game 2 but the footwork and vision is no surprise.

Johns said in the 9 commentary that he asked Gus about Jerome pre game and Gus told him when they were coming through sg ball etc Luai was seen as the more talented of two out of him and Cleary.

So where is the man of the match from that team then? That is proof someone can dominate that side and not make the next step up.

He looked just a run of the mill player in that grade so people commented on what they saw.

What a great time it is for the club. We have the current NSW halves and we are debating whether we really need either of them because we have great depth and talent to burn.

For mine, if we lose Cleary, it wouldn’t be ideal but it also wouldn’t overly concerning considering we have options. Club first decisions need to be made and I’m sure it will happen that way.

Also, I, like many, always saw Luai and Cleary together eventually.

That would leave May to fill out his body and be a 13 or 14.

to be fair to him with the injuries in the top grade the reserves have been a revolving door. For halves its harder to shineThe dummy half has changed constantly his half partner has as well

There is many reasons why NSW Cup form may of been down. As could be said for most NSW Cup teams across the league

May was top of every stat in 2015 NYC. Played almost every position too so perfect 14

To be honest, after watching Jerome kill it on Friday night, and Nathan watching that, hopefully this will convince him to recommit.

Because we watched him play and he did not standout as being better than everyone else. He was average by definition.

Obviously he had it in him to make an impact. He had shown glimpses of that through his lower grades career. But those glimpses were far less regular going from U20s to reserves. They weren't non existent. But they weren't as prominent as they were against Warriors either.

It shouldn't be that hard to understand. Many many players are guns in Junior Leagues and for various reasons don't make the jump. Soni Luke is perfect example got man of the Match in GF over the likes of May etc yet he is at St Mary Ron Massey Cup.

I rate Dean Blore highly he had a few good touches but wasn't as outstanding in NSW Cup. If that continues why would anyone say he can play FG despite being Aust Schoolboy

He's clearly very talented. Was never in question.

Motivation perhaps? It can't have been easy seeing Cleary play 2 1/2 years of first grade, club buy Maloney on a 3 year contract, and prefer Peachey as the backup 6. His pathway to first grade wasn't looking too good.

That maybe concentrating on defence as be all reports he was told he would play in SOO time.

He just strikes me as a big game player. Probably will get himself up for the reserve grade grandfinal. Regardless he scored something like 6 tries in 9 matches which ain't bad for a half.

His NSWRL stats:

13 games played
7 tries
5 try assists
7 linebreak assists
59.5m per game
226 tackles @ 83.1% tackle efficiency
124.5 aversge kicking metres

Probably most concerning stats for a half are his assists and kicking metre stats. Especially in the team running first. Usually a guy ready for the NRL is taking the piss out of this comp and has ridiculous numbers. Although Luai proved in the NRL he csn produce a quality performance. Just need them consistently now.

He has been compared to Preston Campbell by some on here and I like that comparison. A Luai/Cleary halves combination has a very Presto/Gower style to it. Assuming we can keep both. Atleast if we do Cleary will be a lot more experienced than when we tried the TMM/Cleary combination.
