I think Clune struggles with the pace of the game at times in the big leagues too.
Roosters just outmuscled us in the end but Jesse Southwell was like 3 steps ahead of anyone else on the field, her skill set is head and shoulders above most of her peers. To put things into perspective her kicking game compared to Moran and Aiken who are supposedly 2 top shelf halves (or Moran was pre injury) is like comparing Adam Reynolds to Phoenix Crossland, that’s the sort of gap we’re talking about.NSW Women's Premiership kicks off in 5 minutes on NSWRL TV. Playing the top of the table Roosters. Jesse Southwell playing her 2nd game of the season, Millie Boyle playing her first game for the Roosters.
Kicking in women’s rugby league is very one dimensional, 80% of kicks are more or less midfield bombs as most girls really don’t have enough power to angle a deep kick into the corner, I believe it was also quite windy at the ground, Tarryn Aiken tried to kick the ball from her own 30 around midfield toward the sidelines and ended finding touch only around halfway. Southwell was finding space pretty much every time she kicked the ball, almost kicked a 40/20 out of dummy half, high kicks landing on or close to the goal line, finding touch when it situation called for it.Really? Would love to watch some extended highlights?
