What time was the Telegraphs headline, SMH have another twist at 10.29am this morning

Darren Lockyer is reportedly still set to play in Friday's NRL preliminary final against Manly, despite reports to the contrary.

The Daily Telegraph reported this morning Lockyer has decided to pull out of the clash after after consultation with the Broncos medical staff and coach Anthony Griffin at the team camp in Sydney.
The newspaper reported the Broncos were expected to hold a media conference later today to announce that Lockyer has withdrawn because of his fractured cheekbone.
However a Broncos spokesperson told 612 ABC Brisbane Lockyer hadn’t been ruled out and the team wasn’t expecting an announcement, despite reports.

No real way of knowing what is truth. He still might play.

I don't think his absence means Brisbane can't win at all. They beat the best team in the competition last week without Thaiday who has more of an impact than Darren in terms of attack and go forward. Lockyer's leadership and calmness under pressure will be missed but they have a thousand young talented players their right now. Gillett can do a great job and Manly are no certainties.

I think Manly will choke this week or next.

Last week they beat a team that had won 4 of their last 14 games, hardly the best team in the comp.

Brisbane are still a very strong side, their front row is superior to Manly's, their 2nd row is probably on par, both sides have talent in their outside backs but the halves will be their weakness. Wallace isn't in the same league as the Manly halves but he does have more experience. It should be closer than many think but I believe that Manly will get over the line.

I don't want another Manly vs Melb gf, it would be mind numbingly boring....I have nothing against the teams (well, Melb are dirty cheats) but it's been done twice before!

You're only as good as you're last game.
ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA = BEST TEAM

St Merge lost their last game so your argument is beyond stupid. Manly's last game was a 42-8 win, clearly superior to a 13-12 loss. Melbourne's last game was an 18-10 win, hell Parra's last game was a 32-12 win. That, by your logic makes Parra a better team than the Dragqueens.

Guys its not his last game in any case.

Broncos might win. Ever considered that?
He will play for Australia in one more test anyway.

It's getting to be like the John Farnham retirement.

We didn't lose it in regular time but to a wobbly field goal after we were pressed back by defence that didn't get back the ten. Have you considered that Dragons team would have flogged Knights by 50 and Titans by 100?

he's officially out - said he won't be ready for Friday, not enough confidence with collisions
( said he'd be ready for gf if Broncos make it )
