A competent coach for the first time in 20 years. The one coach we had in that time who almost looked like he knew what he was doing for a moment got into a fistfight with one of his players.

The missing piece hasn't been talent, we've had talent at various times including the last couple seasons. The problem hasn't been management of the club, as proven by record sponsorship and record members. The problem has been coaching.

We now have a coach who knows what he's doing. Now that talent we have can be organized and directed properly. It'll all become clear for the masses to see March 2012.

actually, management of a club (or any business or sporting organisation) involves recruiting the best people to do the best job in key positions.

if you have not had a 'competent' coach, then this is a direct failure of management to identify, recruit and retain the best possible person for the role, so yes, it is a management problem.

Closer to home, go south of the border and half Melbournes AFL teams have been unsuccessful for a long time.
