Podolski!!!!!!....

Serious question for Tone, has he always been a high energy player?, cause from most reports ive heard about him say hes lazy.

Prinzes Poldi scored did she? f**k a duck! I wouldn't expect to see him help out in defence if you want energy. It's hard to compare since at Köln he mostly played up front and mostly alone. For Nationalelf he doesn't help out much and mostly runs inside left channels where he can hit the ball across goal.

Yea thats what ive read, yet for the past 3 games he been up and down the pitch all game. Atleast hes better than giroud, knew we should have gotten lewandowski or damiao

For the Nationalelf he doesn't really need to track back unlike with Arsenal the fullback can be caught out because they get forward more than say Aogo or Boateng. Wenger probably demands a higher work rate because of the formation set up as well.

Well so far hes been a brilliant buy, could have scored twice if it wasnt 4 giroud.

Any young strikers in the bundeliga atm, that are worth looking at.

Or was Yesil the only one.

Can't see them finishing above the Manc clubs, CSKA London, us, Spurs or Newcastle. Could pip Newcastle to 6th if things go their way but i'm expecting them to finish 7th.

f**k all offensive threat basically.

Sunderland, Stoke, West Brom and Fulham could easily finish above them this year.

Yea sterling looks awesome, better than the Ox ATM

Not yet.

But this is the Arsenal thread so...

Look alright at the start, still not going to score enough and Giroud is already looking like a dud.
Typical Arsenal really without a top striker to help them along. This could be one transfer to many.

I also feel Carzola is being relied on to much already. Its a hard season for players to get used to, Silva went of the boil in the second half of the season and he had a great team to help him.

Theres no way liverpool will finish below fulham/stoke/west brom.

Not worried about Cazorla burning out. Wilshere will be back soon and when he's up to full fitness the two of them will be able to rotate. not really worried about how much we rely on him. He would be the focal point of any team he would play in because of how good he is so its only natural we run most of our play through him.

Giroud's start hasn't been the greatest but he's getting into goal scoring positions so I'm not too concerned just yet. You don't get golden boot by fluke so he knows how to finish. He's obviously just nervous because of the situation he's been thrown in. His off the ball movement is great and even without scoring against Liverpool he still played well, his movement tied up agger for our first goal which meant skrtyl had to slide to the centre leaving podolski unmarked. He's only started 2 games, if after 6-7 games he hasn't scored I'll be worried. Hell, judas went 4-5 games near the end of last season without scoring and our system was designed for him.

Don't think we will be challenging for the league. Could go for the fa or league cup with a lucky draw. Will comfortably finish inside top 4 though, which seems to be the board's goal these days. At least until we get our ridiculous commercial deals revised which is a year or two away.

Helped Gibbs out quite a lot during the Liverpool game - I was suitably impressed. If only Arshavin put in as much work as Poldi.

6-1

Cazorla and Podolski are world class. Giroud will be more effective with time.

Our midfield quality and depth is as good as any in the league. Bould is the signing of the summer.

Top 4 without a doubt. City next week will show if we are a contender. If we were to win that and be 3-2-0 I'd say we would have as good a chance as anyone this season.

Podolski hasn't even been the best player for Arsenal over the first four games, let alone the league. Not saying he hasn't been great, because he obviously has. But for me Cazorla and probably even Arteta have had more of an influence on our decent start.

Really surprised with how good his all round game is though, i basically expected a left footed Theo with a rocket left foot. His work rate is the best i've ever seen from an Arsenal forward and his interplay and one touch passing with Cazorla has been extremely encouraging, especially because they've only played 5 games together.

Was nice to see Gervinho play well through the middle as well. Would have rathered Giroud start to get him off the mark against a rubbish opposition but I guess Wenger was getting him ready for Montpellier on tuesday.

Hard to read too much into the performance as a whole, Southampton were pretty fckn average, obviously we didn't let them get settled but not going to get my hopes up just yet.

If we manage to get 4-6 points from City and Chelsea then maybe i'll start to dream.

I enjoyed watching the news/media reports over the weekend. Full coverage of the United win and City draw, but nothing about Arsenal winning by five goals. Typical.

Football wise though, I too am surprised about how solid our start has been. One goal conceded in four games is what wins you titles. Cazorla has been immense - consistently our best player in every game.

Don't get me wrong. Podolski has been awesome, and for 10 mill was a steal, but without a doubt cazorla has been our best player and probably the best player in the league up to this point.

I expected the quality Cazorla has provided and hes probably been Arsenals best.

But Podolski has been a huge surprise. His work rate is phenominal, its such a contrast between what RVP offered. Hopefully he can keep it up all season.
