They just had that period of 10 minutes where they had 8 or so sets and we had 1, they managed to break the line a couple
Of times and that killed our defence, and used up a stack of fuel, now we’ve gone back to playing shitty panicky footy in their 20, need to get back to setting up plays instead of trying to score every play. Plenty of sting in Batemans defence when he came on. I think Matamua and Pole can go missing when the going gets tough, don’t have much in the way of stamina can’t get through the fatigue, doesn’t show in the personal stats, because they’re not necessarily missing tackles they just aren’t where they should be. Leaves API exposed to big boys running at him, and that gets the defensive line on the back foot, not overly critical because the Roosters are playing at a speed we’re struggling with

Korisau’s passing has hurt us tonight, has made Sezer’s kicking game look ordinary, passing behind him or to high, Roosters getting up in his face. Has also been poor in the Roosters 20 stifling the attack with balls not going where they should

Lots to think about in that game. I thought we were always going to lose so that isn't the issue.

Some random points:-

1. Douiehi is a real poor defender. His attack is really good. I don't know what we do with the guy. Maybe just play him at right centre and have him work on his game.
2. Faataape offers some good hit-ups but his defense is poor especially on the wing.
3. Sione Fainu is starting to deserve his spot.
4. Stef doesn't deserve top dollars. We should let him go.
5. Bateman adds something to the team and if we can somehow get a quality team on the park that can compete week in and week out plus he starts being disciplined he can add something to the team.

Another weirdly timed flick pass from Bula.. Why did seizer leave it to fainu to have to kick for a repeat set, just before the shit hit the fan..nothing much else caught my interest

Sezer was very poor, shame as overall he’s been pretty good. Hoping we see a different team and game plan for next week.

Sezer was cruelled by roosters line speed multiplied by poor service from Api.

He did have a couple of poor defensive efforts in our 20

As for the game plan we need to stick to it, whenever any sort of scoreboard pressure is put on us we go to shit, it becomes ad-lib rubbish in the oppositions 20, we need to put trust in systems, and take calculated shots in attack, not try to score every play. All the good teams will set their plays to an area on the park and then attack with some shape, doesn’t matter what the scoreboard says, they don’t go chasing points with stupid as-lib footy unless an actual opportunity presents itself.

Yup 💯 he wasn’t running the ship last night… way too much side to side shit. And don’t get me started on Sezer and Galvin’s plays in the red zone.
It’s time for roulette winger again, maybe Lobb or when’s Junior back??
