If you’re going to take anything out of this it’s that it exposed all the issues in such a way that it can’t possibly be ignored. We desperately need a specialist hooker for one, we cannot carry Crossland, Mann and Gamble in the same team and there needs to be a dramatic rethink of what we do with KP, this is a real rip the Band-Aid off moment
Yeah you're bang on, it was all there to see. I think you have to try 7. Hastings 6. Gamble 1. Ponga. Some might say Miller is hard done by in that exchange... but is he really? Play Croker or Elliott in the 13.

I actually think the opposite. You could be creating more issues within the team by doing this.

I think Miller is respected and appreciated for his efforts. If you go ahead and drop him in favour of Ponga and what he just dished up. It wreaks of favouritism and could set the team and their morale back a few more pegs.

Like I said, AOB has some tough work to do over the next couple of weeks.

Reckon Miller can play like a better Watson (energy off the bench) instead of Mann?

1. Ponga
6. Gamble
7. Hasting
9. Crossland
14. Miller/Mann/oh god I don't know

Not that it will happen but I do think we need Gamble back at 6.

Well then yeah you just drop Kalyn then until he's carving up Cup and making tackles there first if all of that is the case.

What was that about?
I only caught the first and last 10 minutes or so
Worth watching the whole game or a total disaster last?

Maybe, and I agree. We look more interested when he's on the field.

Ideally that's the culture you do want to create, where no one is safe, not even the captain and highest paid player.

That in itself could have negative affects, but based on what I've seen this year, I don't think it will..

Yeah Ponga moves well and is exciting at times, but honestly how often does his execution let him down. Whether he hits the wrong ball runner completely or sends it over the sideline, or just gets caught running behind a teammate which breaks down the play. Sure you can argue sometimes that the other players aren't running the correct lines either but it's obvious his communication is extremely poor when you compare his work at 5/8 to Gamble.

Some interesting stats to come out of the game, which probably make me feel worse actually;

1. Eels completed only 66% of sets
2. We had faster play-the-balls than the Eels
3. Eels made 16 errors - 5 more than us.

Yet we still lost by over 30 points.. What a wonderful night.
We just didn't tackle. We didn't want to tackle. Had no interest in it at all. No fight in the ruck, nothing. Completely and utterly submissive.

I don't think his execution is as big a problem as his defence. He's played stuff all football in forever, rust in execution is expected. I knew he'd struggle in the line initially, but it's hard to ignore 10 missed tackles and probably even more ineffective ones.
