Yeah mate, saw them at Riverstage in Brisbane on Friday, absolutely brilliant, one of the craziest mosh pits i have been in. They didnt miss a beat, was like I was listening to them on my ipod they were that tight. Winston's vocals held up brilliantly.

The only problem I had was the set only went for an hour, they could have easily thrown in another 3 or 4 songs. The setlist was quite good though
Sparks
Old Ghosts/New Regrets
Sleepwalker
Karma
Wild Eyes
Boneyards
Romance Is Dead
Deliver Me
Dark Days
Gimme a D (parkway drive take a vote whatever gets the loudest cheer out of gimme a d and swing they will play)

Idols and Anchors
Blue and the Grey

Encore:

Home Is for the Heartless
Carrion

Northlane were good, didnt really like I killed the Prom Queen.

Awesome, sounds like a cracker.

Yeah i agree with you, a band that has 4/5 albums of material should play for around 90 minutes.

Hope they play Dream Run, The River and Swing off the new album. They haven't played Smoke em if ya got em in a long time either.

They probably won't, that setlist hasn't changed for the atlas tour, except for swing/gimme a d, depending on what the crowd wants.

Yeah mate, i listen to all those bands you just mentioned as well so they are probably up your alley as well.

I gave a few of your suggestions and others here a listen.

The black dahlia murder are pretty good, will definitely keep listening to them.

Listened to the new Testament, not bad although i keep going back to The Gathering and haven't yet been able to get through the entire new one.

As i lay dying are not too bad, will need to keep listening i think before deciding.

The Amity Affliction, in parts they are good, in other parts they sound like freaking Good Charlotte i thought, just can't listen to them because of that.

Hatebreeds the rise of brutality is a great album

I havent seen hevy devvy on here lately, he has a far more broad knowledge of metal than I do, I am sure he would have some great suggestions for you mate.

I was cranking Black dahlia on the way to work this morning, they are still my current fave band.

I really only bothered to listen to the amity affliction mid this year. When I had my first listen (youngbloods) it was like an orgasm to my ears. They now make up about 10 songs in my 25 top played songs on iTunes. Pretty good for 6 months.

I thought they were just some punk band, and as I am also from gympie in Qld I was of the opinion that nothing good could really come out of there.

When you said they sounded like good Charlotte in parts I couldn't help but look for the similarities this morning. You are right, the clean vocals are similar, but musically they are a lot different and the screamo vocals make up more than half the vocals.
But yeah, I never noticed any similarity to good Charlotte til you mentioned it.

Yeah I thought the same about Amity Afflicition when I first listened to them, but after 2-3 listens you forget about it.

Another good band for you Mong is A Day to Remember, get the Homesick album and you won't be disappointed. Though i had trouble getting past them sounding like Blink 182 in their pop punk parts but their heavey as contasts are amzaing. I soon forgot about the Blink comparison too.

Amity Affliction.. nope, can't do it.. the good charlotte sound destroys it.. i only get about 4 songs in and have to stop.

Disappointing as the non good charlotte sound is pretty good !!

Oh wow, people still think that post-hardcore/metalcore is screamo? This is screamo guys, not Amity.

Personally I think that the new Amity album is trash and Youngbloods isn't that much better although maybe that's because I saw the process of their fan base turning into 15 year old scene girls because of Youngbloods first hand.

Mong, the clean sections are a huge part of Amity's music and there's very few songs that don't have a lot of them. I'm not a fan of any of these bands but here are some who have a similar sound to Amity but with less of a focus on clean vocals:

Asking Alexandria: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxBelXU2h4o
Buried in Verona: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1aTcwIFTQ4
Of Mice & Men: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSeiG6qMhaI

Why does a band having 15 year old fans make you not like them? I never understood this logic.

I absolutely can not stand Buried in Verona, Notorious is one of the worst albums I have ever heard in my life.

Enslaved's "RIITIIR" is a kick-arse album.

Kamelot's latest is f**king sweet.

And Devolved's latest effort is f**king brutal.
