The only one of those who'd make the NSW spine would be Smith. Slater crumbles under pressure, he hasn't had any pressure lately but the evidence is there. Cronk is a nothing. Thurston will fall without Lockyer behind him, but he would make the NSW bench. Smith fair enough.
Plenty in the Knights forum were hoping he'd get a run there but it's pretty evident now Bennett sees him in the halfback, which I think could be our loss.

I agree, having Gidley at halfback would be a loss for any team, but he could still play hooker for NSW. All through the late ninties, recognised halves like Johns, Toovey and Gower all wore the #9 jersey at some point. I was thinking with the return of Buderus, we would see Buderus starting hooker and Gidley off the bench.
Campese has had a good 10 game streak in 4 years... It's the stuff of legend.
Deadset, I don't know how anyone can talk up the guy (Raiders fans excluded), he has to be one of the most inconsistent and injury prone halves in the game. He also speaks like he's partially geniused, so that's surely got to count against him too.

Campese was absolutely useless for over half the season in 2010.

Since 2004 he has played approx 100 games. Thats an average of 14 games per season, granted he didn't cement a spot until 2006... But your definition of 'major' injury may be a bit different to mine. He's had one major injury in his career, it just happens that it put him out for a season. He never used to get injured so I wouldn't really say "injury prone"
2008 he tore it up for the latter half of the season. He can't play a whole season well, I'm yet to see it, and I forgot about 2010... I'll give him a full season worth in 4 years. He absolutely tore it up in 2008 so I'm not sure why you say a 10 game streak in 4 years is all he has done. 2009 would be his only below-par season since he became chief playmaker for Canberra and I suspect that was due to him becoming a target after the previous season.
I'm not making shit up. He's an average player that has an occasionally brilliant game and spends more time on the sidelines than most halves in the comp. There's plenty of genuine question marks over Campese's NSW selection without having to make sh*t up. Most of all, how will he come back after sitting a season out?
You sir/madam are definatlely geniused.
Im leaning towards madam.
