Given the split oppinion here on whether Fui Fui's tackle deserved a suspension, the one question each of us should ask ourselves before making a stand either way is "would I have been happy if someone had hit Tim Smith with that tackle". The the answer is yes, then Fui should not have been suspended. If the answer is no, then he's done the crime and now he has to do the time.

I agree Scotty. It's one of those ones that looks real bad. I still think he got the top of his head, just where it was and where the arm swung. But as you say the evidence has to be proved. It's maybe not as clear cut as they think, but still looks bad. As I say, I believe he made contact still.
I'm also sure he got him in the head but if the pictures don't show it and the ref didn't even see it then it's got me stuffed how they found him guilty.

Imagine if courts worked liked that and you were sent to prison because they thought you killed someone despite not being able to prove it.

This is a very valid point mate.

Had it been on Tim Smith, there is nobody in here that would be wanting anything less than a month off for the offender.

Scotty your right mate. Hard to prove it hey when it's inconclusive. They may have a fighting chance yet if they appeal.

I don't think losing Fui is a huge loss at all.

Sure he has been good in his few patches, particularly in hitting the ball up.

But Peek in particular is the better option to have around during the finals. He is a very solid, experienced player, and I can't see how people think he hasn't played well this season. He hasn't had explosive patches like Fui, but overall I think he has been better.

Vs the Dragons, Fui's first touch was a knock on, then his 2nd touch, he fumbled again (a harder one, but still a fumble) and the Dragons scored. 10 minutes later he crashed over to score from a couple of metres out and thats a great game from Fui??

Sure, 9 weeks is harsh, especially considering Webb isn't facing half that, but I'd rather have Peek there than Fui anyway during the finals. More experienced, more consistent.

What about Peek's bombed tries?

Knock-ons when hitting it up 10 metres from our line?

Forward passes? He's one of two props I know (Pearson being the other) who insist that they have playmaking ability.

It's a two-way street.

In any case, Moi Moi is way more likely to make a massive run which will swing the match back in our favour than Peek or Cannings.

Russell Fairfax seemed to be of the opinion that on the evidence presented that Fui Fui should not have been charged. He said Fitzy had the sh*ts on the result and that the Club will be lodging an appeal.
A man is innocent until proven guilty..that is the law of the land. He doesn't have to prove himself innocent. There are still a few more twists and turns in this case....
On appeal, Fui will appear before Sir Lawrence Streat, one on the most eminent legal minds in the country.....Now I don't have to tell Laurie what the law is. Fui is not GONE yet!!!!!

Cowboys didn't have much choice, he's their best forward by far when he's on his game.
I agree, but they have brains right?

Amen Pete :D

Would like to see him get off. Little worried about the media fuss it will attract though. Want the boys concentrating on Manly.

Bugger the media. They will love it. Give them plenty of copy instead of having to chase it.
When the media starts running the game it (the game) is in trouble.

I agree. I never said it runs the game though. I'm just pointing out that this is likely to be back page stuff for the next 2 days. It has us right in the spotlight. Would have prefered to just prepare quietly for our first final. That's all I meant. I'm the last person to give a stuff about the media.

It would be inspirational for the players to know that the Club is prepared to fight every inch of the way for their LEGAL rights.

Good to see he deserves every single week he gets maybe more pathetic cheap shot and after all parra are good at anything with the word cheap in it.

Yes...This coming from a moron that supports a club who tells their skipper, "Sorry - despite trying your guts out for us this year in our time of need, you suck, so we signed Orford."

Think before you type, you ignorant pissant.

Thank you. Your saying the word depth is overused. Obviosuly you don't want to rely on it for the finals. Obviously you want the best 17 out there. But in real life sometimes you need to rely on things. IF we require our dpeth, it is there. We have it in abundance.

Re the Knights, on paper this, on paper that. As you said yourself, we can't rely on hypotheticals.

I think we can pretty much agree that we have good depth. I'm just saying that even in having depth by losing our top 17 we still lose out in terms of ability and skill. Perhaps not as much as other clubs but we still do. I think the main disagreement we have is the value that Fui brings to the team. I'm saying he is becoming an integral part of our wins and I don't think Peek or Cannings fill this void. However we're both Parra supporters and we should agree to disagree and concentrate on cheering on our team no matter who is playing.

Quite frankly, I don't care. This year we have been dudded twice by the judiciary with Dunley getting off scott free and cat Barrett getting a measley week for disgraceful indescretions. If Fui gets off then IMO it's just a case of what goes around comes around, and the judiciary's shockingly unbalanced scales of justice finally leaning our way.
