Some of you guys seem to forget what happened last year.....

Round 26 - Eels VS Dragons

Dragons Win
37-0

Preliminary Finals - Eels VS Dragons

Eels Win
25-14 (or whatever it was)

Eels have been smashed before and everything looking hopeless only for them to bounce back......
I would hardly say their season is 'over'; this loss could actually be the key to ignite them into the form that got them to the grand-final last year (they beat three of the top four sides in the finals and bowed out to a team over the cap). After all, it's what happened last year; a run of wins, a crushing loss, then even more amazing performances....

The Eels have the team and the coach to win the premiership (Daniel Anderson has had a very successful career and the Eels can destroy any other team at their very best with their unforgiving and nearly unbeatable defence and amazing attack), but whether they will actually play as well as they did last year and make the finals is a question I can't answer.
It is possible, and quite doable if the Eels play to their best, but will it happen? I have no idea....

Also, I think if they make the grand final this year, there is no way they will lose (consecutive grand-finals experience; only other team that has 'recent' experience aside form Melbourne is Manly).........also because the team would lift for Cayless' last season, and it would be like what people were saying if the Doggies made the GF last year; they would never lose because of Hazem's last game.....

These are my thoughts, not necessarily true....

The Eels run home is more difficult this season than last season. In their run last year as good as it was- they smashed teams like the Warriors and Cronulla and a faltering Panthers. Their last 5 games start with the Titans and the Broncos both away form home. Also this season they lack the impact from Kevin Kingston out of dummy half, the Eels aren't the same team as last season. They'll need to win 4 of their last 5 just to make the 8, with their run home its an uphill task.

Dismissing the Eels chances just because of one loss,LOL.

These people have obviously never watched a NRL game and seen the ups and downs of this comp before

I'm not making excuses, but let's focus on the bigger picture here for a second - the Roosters were outstanding. Played pretty much perfect football. Kudos to them.

As for the Eels, as a fan I am hoping and praying we get in the top 8 so we can have a crack at sending Nathan Cayless, one of the game's good blokes, off a deserving winner. But I don't think we will, nor do I think we necessarily deserve it, because when we have been bad this year, we have been horrid.

Yes I believe the words were something like “Roosters will be an easy win for Parramatta… 30+”

Well at least he was close with the margin

This thread again, what a shock it has come from a fan of a club that stands for the absolute worst in professional sport.

Scumnulla or The club with the least integrity, no ethics, the scummiest rugby league club ever, who are still dependant on millions per year to survive. If it wasn't for an absolute bucketload of free $$$$$, constant handouts your club would be where it should be.

Mmmmmmmmm easy choice.

Opening this thread, I thought the suggestion would be "Hey, let's give them all plane tickets to Adelaide for their end-of-year trip.. where they can look at property, do some coaching clinics, and generally go-about relocating." :-O

Kinda glad it wasn't.
